"And I care for her." Jess agrees.

"Dawww" Cynder says

"Oh yes. ahem" Cynder straighens "Stoic thank you"

Siv tries not to swallow her face

Jess manages not to roll her eyes.

"Now," Siv says "Let's go see Flex and Specs, they're adorable little book lifters."

Jess nods; good idea. She takes them to the library where they might also find Constance and possibly Coy?

Constance is there, no sign of Coy.But the scribe looks up "Well, hello, I see our guest is here. I'm Constance , scribe of the hold."

"This is Kassidy. I think you know Siv."

"And these are Flex and Specs."

"Nice to meet you all" the squire giggles

Jess nods to the chimera in greeting.

"Mmph " "Huff!"

"They're so cute" the squire says

"Mm." Jess feels that it wouldn't do to say it outloud; at least, not for -her- to do it.

Indeed, they protest by lifting Old Encyclepida tomes. MACHO stuff!

"Very good, gentlemen."

Siv says "Okay, I admit, if we had a library with little gguys like these...reading might be more fun"

"We need a bigger libary at Rivervale I think" Kassedy ponders

"We've got book cases" Siv says

"Well, yes" She admits

"Dad's library is... select. Small, but refined."

"It's like two book cases and a desk?" The squire says "Very nice but..."

"There are more book cases in the lodge, just scattered"

Jess nods. "I think there were, like, three in my room. One was a smaller one, but two were full-length."

"Small that I could reach?"

Jess thinks, nods. "I think so. Top shelf might be a stretch."

"Well, trolls aren't very short"

"Except me," Siv says, though of course she's tall for a human , just on the short side for a troll "Runt of the litter"

"Little sister. Baby of the family." Jess says, deadpan.

Siv fights a sigh

"What else would you like to see?"

"I guess whatever you'd like, Countess. It's all so very impressive" the squire admits

Jessica continues the tour.

They finally circle to the balefire itself

"And here is the heart of Fenix, and Renaissance."

"Oh she's lovely" The squire says, "She's..." A thought"What's the word? Serene?"

Jess nods.

The flame of fenix spins a bit, and curls near Jessica

"Sometime you'll meet her.... brother? I guess? At another hold here."

Jess lets her fingers find the flame.

The flames loop around those fingers like a gentle hand hold from a friend

"She likes you, doesn't she?" The Squire asks
