And off she goes on patrol

It's cooling off now; evening. Still warm, though, it's not like she needs a jacket. She walks her domain.

Nothing to see.... all well... yup.

Wait, is that a chimerrical scorpion?

no, dozens of them, coming OUT of Duff's business

Jess immediately investigates, as safely as possible. There's a back entrance? A way to crush the arachnids and go in through the front?

Well, she could smash them.. and there IS a back entrance to a sub level. But it's usually locked

They don't seem to be attacking as they exit

Just scatteringg about. Wait, are they .. wet?

Are they.... INK?

Why yes, yes they are

She looks at the sky for a moment, wonderingly. She wades through the river of scorpions (unless they attack?) and looks inside from the doorway.

A pale figure lays a table.. scorpions coming off his back, as Duff chants somethinngg

NNNope... Duff stands next to him Chantinng. So Duff annd... Pale guy?

Pale guy seems to be being used as Scorpion Factory

She watches.

And Kens the pale guy.

he's being used as Bunk for the glamour. Wait, is that a CORPSE?

Her face sets into certain lines, and she watches, Maul in hand.

Annd then, at last, the Scorpions stop

And Duff looks a bit drained

She waits, watching.

And the Scorpions go out innto the city while he sits down, looking more mortal than troll

"Why?" quietly.

HE looks up, and says "Damnn it Jessica, how long have you been out there?"

"Long enough."

"Don't worry about it" Duff makes a wavey motion

"I ask again, why?"

"To achieve a goal, of course. to cover the city with agents for a mission"

"What mission?"

"Jessica, we're not .. a couple anymore. I'm not going to share all my plans with you like I used to"

She considers that, nods. "Ok. Do you need Right of Rescue?"

"No. I can rescue myself, but if I crave haven later I'll ..stop by the Pitt"

She nods, and departs.

And he slumps once she's gone, only now allowing himself to lower his guard

As for Fenix, it gets a bit more overcast... just for a bit. It miht even rain. but the patrol must go on

Indeed it must! And it might go on with a special awareness of and gaze for scorpions.
