the Day after Yule....

And Siv comes to visit

"Siv's here?" Jess stands and goes to see. "Is everything ok?"

"Everything's fine" Siv says with a smile and a hug "You do know the trod is literally just a door flip away?"

"Yes, I know." puzzled.

"So why assume me visiting must be a crisis?" She asks "Did you like the gift I got you?"

"Yes, thank you. I don't know if I can use all the information in it but every bit helps."

"I wanted to get you something with more pizzazz but, well, I know how practical you are" She says

"I don't have a lot of use for pizzazz." she agrees. "What brings you?"

"Glad you asked, I bear news from the Rovers on Uncle Olgar's behalf."

"Come on, take a seat. What news?"

She flops on the seat offered, "News of a golden trod formed during the Yule Star. Gold, not Silver mind... and strange fae souls are the least of it"

"Not silver.... is it safe to travel?"

"No, and it may not be there anymore but we don't know what it unloaded or where... be on the look out for new arrivals dark and light alike"

Jessica nods seriously. "I'll put word out. Where did the trod open that we know of?"

"Multiple locations.. the trod SPOKED, llike a bike wheel"

"We think Firnost is very likey... Sylvi was in the thick of it but she DROPPEd to a Silver somehow and took that to RV home again ...so we're not sure exactly where it goes"

"I imagine the Rovers are securing it?" A frown "We don't want Balor taking it....."

"I think it's gone" She admits "But it's been searched by Rovers" A nod "More likely it's gone with the Yulestar being done, and now you have fall out whatever it transported"

"Like new kiths?"

"Or new thalllian or the like too, but.. in theory?" A nod "yes"

"What's already been reported?"

"Not up on that" She says "I was told to give you the base news because the Rovers were looking for more details"

"Well, I appreciate it. Thank you."

"How's everyone up North?"

"Oh, great. Still happily going over gifts and such.. though poor Sally Mae no sooner came back from Yule at the Farmhold only to find out she had a helluva clean up..." A wink "Folks kept giving the Hearth booze for Yule."

Jessica laughs. "Some kind of message there? How is Sylvi?"

"She's good! I mean, crazy golden trod stuff aside... she's been a huge help to Brightwynds and I think really hit her stride with it, though Piper helped too. And one of her gifts was a silver trod connection from RV barony to Darkgate Territory so she can see her boyfriend more often"

"Who gave her that?" with some surprise.

"I guess Colton?" as she catches up.

"Actually, Her dad... can you believe it?" She says proud of Olgar "I mean, it's a real sign he realizes she's got her own life and is all grown up now"

"Wow! That's.... impressive."

"Yeah and that means you might have a means to visit Dark Gate if yo uneeded to. Just one more step"

"I... suppose. Why would I need to visit Dark Gate?"

"Well they.. oh good point, you have Tweak for weapons and armor"

Jess considers it for a moment. "I suppose..... maybe a visit? For Tweak, I mean. To see what Dark Gate is doing and vice versa?"

"It's possible" She says "They're pretty old school" She admits

"Maybe Renaissance can help, then?"

"It's worth some communication" She nods "If you want, Sylvi would probably be happy to act as a go between"

"I'll be in touch with her."

"Good. Now.. I'm parched. Want to have a drink and snack with me here in your kitchen?"

"Sure, come on......." And together they go to raid the kitchen.

"Thanks.." And yes, kitchen raiding is ago

The scene at Skyhook is Bonkers, Tweak's got her hands full! Lost Airship has not reported in. And now tthe Countess is visiting?

"Because of course!" Tweak mutters a curse after that, then says, "Number One, you have somebody show 'er up here, right? But I want yer ass overseein' the peeps what figgerin' out what th' fuck done happen to our ship!"

"Roger that, Mama captaiz. No aether signals on the morse code or anything though"

"That only be reassuring when we knows where all our ships is. Right now, that little detail ain' cheerin' me one bit."

"I'll go get our guests" She moves down
