"I was in Dama Ash's room. Look what I found."

"What?" She sets the frog down "Another day, Rochester"

"What did you.." She looks"oh that's CREEPY"

"See the back? Dauntain."

"Somebody is in trouble."

"Dauntain?" A gulp "Those are the worst of the worst"

"They're superbanal ex fae, right?"

"They're bad."

"They're like iron, but people."

A nod "What can we do?" Scared, but ready to help

"I don't know."

"We need to help - look, see? There's kids trapped..."

"Oh geez.. they have no eyes.he has no mouth? What does that mean? Is it like.. litera. littera.. REALLY that way?"

"Maybe not literally..."

“But maybe it is?” Salma peers around from behind where she rescued the frog from Ariel’s abandonment, put into her pocket for later return to a garden.

Rochester was worried about kittens

“Like Senorita Coraline.” A shiver. She did not care for that movie.

"Oh Ahpuch loved that movie" but Ariel shivers too

"The Dauntain.. they are not to be triffled with" A whisper "And nothing wrong with button eyes. I can get you some if you like?" Ahpuch says from the shadows

Ariel jumps"Gosh darn it. Forget the cat,someone bell the sluagh"

"But we can't just leave them to hurt people..."

"The Countess will no allow" Ahpuch whispers "And Dame Ash... she already took the worst of the dreams"

“She took them, but that doesn’t mean they were not there?”

"You mean there were more? From Samhain?"

Salma ponders that with a frown.

"I wish I could remember..." She frowns. "I don't like Samhain."

“The Dama looks tired.” Salma remarks, but hushed. It is NOT proper to remark on a lady’s appearance, let alone your betters.

"She probably had dreams, too."

Salma also nods to Ellie and frowns. “I remember everything I read. But nothing from that night. What if I found a book and never know it again? It is no bueno.”

"Yes, She hid her notes" Ahpuch says

"Well, then you get to read it again for the first time. How often can you read something for the first time twice?"

"...but you know where?"

Ariel says "No wonder she's tired"

Ahpuch says "I might. But.. what price would be worth angering the Dama?"

"Mmm.. I don't want to anger her, but would she be angry if she didn't know?"

"Probably not. but again, it seems to get me nothing" Ahpuch says

Ariel shrugs "Welll... if you can't do it.."

She nods. "Ariel's right. You shouldn't."

“I will go if you will not.” Salma announces. “and if I get caught, then you shall never get a glance at the notes.”

“I can surely sneak as well as Ahpuch if I try.”

In fact, she hides rather well - but for often forgetting that her long ears give her away.

Ariel watches him go and covers her mouth. He'd hear her laugh if she let it slip
