PENNONS was fun! There are some bad ass fighters, and folks are thrilled. Even some Nunnehi showed up and some kith that seemed ALMOST Nunnehi but not? It went so smoothly it need not be discussed in great detail...

detail that would annoy some, and exhaust the detailer

But Samhain approaches...and folks are getting ready. Including Jessica, of course

With a grim sense of duty.

Duff shakes his head "You always look like someone is dying this time of year"

"The time of year is dying." She points out.

"And by death, being reborn."

A grunt.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to try seduce you into your unseelie side earliy. Though you seem amused when I become all honorable" A hmm?

He gets a LOOK.

Duff gets a beer "I'm just saying. In Beltaine, everyone remembers"

"I don't ask you to be Seelie."

"I'm not asking you to be unseelie" He points out "I'm just saying you don't have to be so sour that it's going to happen... you punish yourself as if you're having a moral failing"

Another grunt.

Grunt back

She sighs. "Sorry. Iguess I'm in a mood."

"You're right, It isn't that bad."

"Mmm is it just the holiday or something else setting off the mood?" His brow knits with curiousity

"Pretty sure it's the season."She admits.

"mmm. Well, it will be over soon" He says "And If you want, I won't even bring my needle and inks to the celebration to reduce the chance of you getting tattooed"

She gives him wide eyes. "Yes, please; I do -not- want a tattoo Ican't remember."

"Makes for some great speculation, but I promise, I'll leave them behind that night"

He carefully does NOT laugh at her wide eyes... indeed. He fights not to smile

"Thank you."

Holger comes nearby, and slumps

Duff looks at the boy curiously

"Holger? Is something wrong?"

"I am.. the failure" He sighs

Duff arches a brow

"How so?" concerned.

"The girls must fight.. they are learning.. because they know I am not a good enough protector. " he sighsand slumps

"Holgar that is not at all true."

"Si, I am worst troll ever. I do not do enough. I am barely learning the english" He sighs

Duff points out "You're speaking English now."

"but poorly, senor duff, poorly" Holger says

Jessica may notice the behavior is similiar to the few unseelie moments of her mother

"Duff. I think it's the season." She murmurs.

"Ah," Duff says "I see what you mean. Some do not take things well."

"I have given into the unseelie? It is not even the Samhain! I AM the failure..weak willed troll" The boy sighs

Duff al.ost gets a glare, but she stops herself.

Duff is focused on the boy "You are too hard on yourself, boy. The girls trust you with their lives and they are very bright. "

"I agree."

"if you say, what do I know?" THe little boy sulks

"I -do- say."

That gets him and he straightens enough to bow "Yes, Comtessa"

"This will pass, Holger" Duff says

"It will." She agrees more gently.

"Gracious" Holger says then admits "it's hard."

"I know." Not without sympathy.
