She hops down from the bed, to pad back to her room.

And as promised, Salma is waiting for mugs of champurrado - including a covered mug for Ariel should she awake, and cream for the kittens. She will have to apologize in the morning to Rosa and Maria - without boggan quickness, she left a (small!) bit of a mess behind, but will tend to that later... friends are more important right now.

"Hey Salma."

"Los siento Princesca. I didn't mean to interrupt."

"You didn't, but I'm not allowed to tell everybody about my dreams."

"Not allowed?" She raises an eyebrow, and the ear on that side raises as well. Handing over a warm mug.

She takes the mug. "House rules."

She cuddles up close to Salma's side, and sips the chocolate.

"Can you tell the difference between a pesadilla - nightmare.. and, uh..." Looking for the word. She holds a hand up in front of her eyes and mimes seeing through crossed fingers. "Clarividencia?"

"...not always."

"I think nightmares are about the past, maybe."

"Like when I see the Bad People."

"You should try a dream journal." She nods. "When you wake up, write down what you dreamed of, so it stays fresh. And if the Dama says it's not a... House dream? We can talk of it later. But you can write it down, and then if you cannot tell me, I will tell you a story so you can sleep again. Because you need your beauty rest, or you'll wake up with Tonto's hair."

A little giggle. "I would look silly as a buffalo."

"It would be good practice, to do the writing too." She offers, with no judgement. "And if you have trouble on a word, I will help. I will cover up my eyes though so I do not see your secrets." A small smile.

"You're a good friend, Salma."

"I'm sorry I woke you up."

"I'm a silly burra, but that just translates to a friend in bad english." She gives her a hug. "Besides, it was an excuse for late night champurrado."

"It was the kittens all along. They attack your feet under the blankets, and draw in the nightmares. You can tell them from other horses because they have purple Beau-Manes." A solemn nod.

Another giggle.

"And they DID want cream."

"Look, Donquito has it all over his whiskers."

(Ramona, meanwhile, is trying to "help" her brother...)

"Ah, no, do not fall asleep in the cream." Reaching over to fish out the grey kitten that is dozing.

"I wonder if they will be ready for tamales soon." Thoughtful.

"Can they make fish tamales?"

Ramona nibbles at Salma's fingers, perhaps they have milk?

"I always say, turn your pesadilla into a quesadilla, and you'll have a pleasant night." Always? Has she ever said that? Tickling the kitten and turning her to where she can wash Donquito's face.

Leche!

"I don't think they'd like corn, but I guess we can eat that part.

A soundless squeak of protest, and then he stolidly withstands the washing... and may fall back asleep on Ellie's lap. "I do like fish tacos. And you can put anything in a tamal."

"Well, they like tuna."

"Maybe we can find a book for you... purple, with a star... I like tuna too. Am I a gatita?" A sleepy grin.

"Donquita, be good. You were dirty, she's helping!"

"Maybe! A big Donquita."

"Do you fall asleep in your milk?"

"If I had a pool of it nice and warm, maybe. But then I would smell like Ahpuch in the morning. Oh...." And she takes the third mug, and slides it behind the dresser. "See, he can join us next week and try some now." A nod.

"Oh, smart!"

She is not falling asleep in her milk... but she is drooping, and an ear is in danger of dipping into her mug.

"Oh, Salma..."

She takes away the mug, and tucks her friend into bed - Ellie's, since the bunk might wake up Ariel.

Donquito and Ramona are tucked in beside her pooka friend.

A sleepy mumble and she reaches out to pull Ellie close. There is room for both!

So there is!

And it is hard to have bad dreams with two kittens and an amiga.
