"They would have said, right?"

Phoebe looks up when she sees the countess approach, sets her drink down, and then curtseys

"Countess" She says

She licks a little cinnamon from her fingers. “I had a song I was practicing for next round. Proooobably too late to make a new one out of thin air...” Grin.

Jessica nods. "Well done." She congratulates the other mortal.

"MMmm...." Adam looks like he'd enjoy a taste of cinnamon but he holds back just a bit. "You want to go back to the beach tomorrow? When do you think we have to leave?"

“Depends on if they offer me the troubadour position.” She says with a grin. “This place is growing on me...”

Phoebe smiles "Thank you. I.. am glad you liked it. THough Piper's medly dwarfed it I thought."

"Yeah?" He grins and wraps his arms around her waist, ducking to rest his chin on her shoulder. "Sun, sand, surf, music..... AND a boyfriend who took Spanish!"

Jessica tilts her head, considering. "I think there was merit to both performances."

"I'm glad to hear that" she smiles "Oh wasn't Ariel wonderful? She worked so hard on that."

A slight smile. "She did very well. I suspect we have a lot more of that in our futures."

Phoebe says "I.. I wanted to ask your permission for something"

"You may ask."

"My.. my voice has power... I can...sing a song so sad most weep. I know it sounds like boasting, but if I might demonstrate it as part of a song it might help my chances." Phoebe says

Duff raises a brow "You're clearly not familiar with 'better to beg forgiveness than ask permission'"

"In my life, forgiveness is a rare thing and punishments are harsher when you expect it" Phoebe says

"Something you might consider, Duff." Dry.

Duff shoots Jessica the briefest of smiles, but the affection lingers in his eyes.

"I am sorry to hear that, Phoebe. I hope you will not find that to be the case here."

"No, though I understand caution. Still, may I?" she asks

Jessica seems reluctant but nods. "Yes. Have care."

"I would prefer the childlings not be present."

"Oh. I ..suppose that does limit taht" SHe says "And rightly so. "

Jessica nods agreement. "Be sure you enjoy yourself, as well." Another squeeze on Duff's arm.

And away towards Bevera.

And Bevera turns and bows, balancing the glass smoothly in one hand.

"Your excellency." She says

"Dame." Jessica greets. "Well done."

"I feared mine was less well received than some to be honest" SHe says "The competition is fierce, but that is for the best. Who wishes to tilt against easy rivals? They make un interesting companions later on when elbows are bent"

To Adam, only half teasing. "I'm not sure your folks would dig you moving to Mexico before you graduate."

"An excellent point." Jessica agrees.

"What about your family? Would they be cool with you moving here if you wanted to?"

Her grin fades a little. "It would be closer to visit my moms... or rather, have them come visit, maybe." She admits. "But I would miss my friends back in Rivervale too much. And I don't want to switch schools again, repeating a grade sucked already."

Bevera says "Thank you. I hope you DID enjoy my song though"

"Ugh." Adam agrees. "I got a year left...." heavy sigh.

"One year more...
Another year, another destiny
This never-ending road to being scholarly...
These teachers seem to know that time
Runs slowly during lesson time..."

She sings to the tune of les mis... grinning again.

Adam laughs softly, his warm breath tickling her neck.

Spencer turns at Piper singing Les Mis

Jessica nods. "I did."

She laughs at the breath on her neck.

"I did not go to school today...
How can I learn when I'm outsmarted..."

"Aw man.... I gotta learn about music."

And if she catches Spencer's eye, she gives him a grin!

Bevera smiles "It is good to hear. I have a few songs yet, one of more lively"

"I look forward to hearing them." (And she does)

"Your excellency? If I might?" She says then whispers "You have a spy here"

Spencer nods "Nice. Just wondering if we're going to Broad Each others ways"

She chuckles at Spencer. "No, my next song is just good ol' pop. Did I step on your toes?" Truly seeming repentant if so.

Jessica steps closer to the Gwydion knight. "Should we withdraw to discuss?"

"No no... and even if you did, no one owns music.. not in that way anyway" The DeBuke says
