"And this is my companion, Ariel... " A little eyebrow-wrinkle. "We seem to have lost Salma."

Adam bows. "Adam Thomas."

"Pleased to meet you! Are you here to see the kittens?"

"She's probably got eaten by another book, Salma that is" Ariel says.

"Probably."

"Kittens?"

"Oh yes," Ariel says "The County Kittens" A nod

"Well, why else would you visit?"

Adam grins. "Because we haven't been here yet."

"Well, then you Haven't seen the kittens."

"Come!" She starts walking, with a little bounce of blonde curls.

Zane shrugs and follows giving Adam a look of 'might as well humor em'

Azul follows now that the chase is over

"But if the redcap comes, you mustn't hide from him. I don't wish to have him shouting again."

Adam follows fairly willingly. "Redcap? He a problem for you, uh, Excellency?"

"Not really, but he lacks subtlety. And he scared Salma."

"Not juust Salma but that's caps for you" They move to the study

"Still. No shouting redcaps. Hello Scribe Constance, we have visitors but we'll be quiet!"

Adam nods greeting.

The tall troll woman isn't as muscular as some, and has a librarian look. She rises , "And who are your visitors if I may ask?"

"This is Zane, and his companion is Adam. I'm going to show them the kittens."

"very well, Mamacita Marion is feeding them but just keep a distance and you'll see fine" She gestures.

"Nice to meet you, Sribe Constance," Zane says

Curtsy. "Thank you, Scribe!"

"Ariel says Marion is a famous movie librarian."

"Which takes place in Iowa, and I can't call it Io-way, because I am from Pennsylvania."

Adam smiles at Constance. "Yes, very nice to meet you." He agrees, then follows the girls to the kittens.

Zane DOES look at the kittens. "Four of them..."

They are finishing up their meal, either that or their mom is about to.

Ariel grins at Ellie "That's true, but Pennysivania has a proud history too.. uhmm lots of the movie 1776 based there.. and Rocky and.. huh. .guess it's all Philly"

"And steel!"

Adam looks at the kittens... but his gaze slides back to the little Countess.

"So, the tabby, she likes to escape... and gray is very lazy... and the calico, she is the noisiest..."

"Yup. Though mamacita looks after them all"

"She does. She's a very good mama."

"What about the last one?"

For being, well... 7.... there is no doubt in Adam's mind that she IS a Countess, possessing the same ineffable quality of the older sidhe he's met."

"Ohhh, Tuxie likes his ears scratched."

"YUP.. but we can't touch them too much yet, just a little" Ariel says

"They're still babies."

Zane smiles "I got a golden Reitreiver... name Sunshine..well, more my sis' dog than mine"

"He's cool." Adam agrees.

"Azul it the Countess' dog, properly."

"Well, he's friendly" Zane says as Azul choses this moment to lick Adam

"Well hey there, fella...." Adam woogies the pup, his attention momentarily diverted from the Countess.

"Azul is a good boy."

"He sure is." Adam agrees.

"Are you from Rivervale, too?"
