"I missed something."

"I didn't understand any of it" Ariel says with a shrug "I hope I didn't look piggish.. they ate even fancier than YOU do."

ANd that's when it clicks. They ate as if they were used to eating at the grandest halls!

Oh, their manners in conversation were lacking, but the sausage and such were ate almost by the quarter...j ust so.. this fork, that knife.. wrist at such a height

"They did. Though that wasn't reflected in how they spoke."

"They were a bit blunt and definitely evasive," Dame Ash says

"VERY secretive. EIluned usually are, but Gwydion?"

"Why are they here?"

"I don't know," Dame Ash says

THen she says "Possibly they have a quest, possibly a job. Freelances, they said. Not Knights Errant..Freelances. That denotes for hire"

"Oh..."

"Questing for hire is not so noble."

"Is it..bad? Are they bad guys?" Ariel says the last in a whisper "I know not ALL nobles are bad but.. " Nervous

"We don't know if they're bad or not, Ariel. It's okay."

"They might not be good or bad. But they won't hurt you are Salma. I won't let them."

Ariel says "Thanks, Ellie. You're the best"

"I think I can handle that, your excellency, protecting you and your friends" Dame Ash smiles though.

It is clear she approves of the attitude

"I... I would like that, too, Dame Ash."

"I'm glad. Now, let me get those plates and take them in .. if you're done?"\

Ariel seems surprised at someone else getting HER plate but ... doesn't object

"We are done, thank you."

"You're welcome" SHe moves and goes

Once she's gone, Ariel says "Let's go to the study and see how Salma is doing.. maybe get a book on learning Spanish?"

"Ooo, yeah! Though... maybe later, we could spy on them?"

"We.. cool" A grin "Sure.." Then her brow furrows "Let's find out what they're up to later, with Salma's help. Nobody steps into Chief Jessica's hold and acts super sneaky about it on OUR watch"

"Exactly. She rescued me. I owe her."

"And she's the farm's ally. It's my duty.. uhm. kinda" and thus resolved, the two girls go to see how Salma is doing.. and later.. find out if these two guys are up to no good

(End Scene)

"Jessica? Jessica I... sorry. your excellency"

"What?"

"Sorry pardon" It takes her a moment "I learned more about those two knights' They're still here. They had breakfast with us. " And she relates all that happened.. including with some amusement, how Ellie insisted on GOOD manners from them. (Read the entire breakfast etc 🙂 )
