The gang fight in the street caught everyone off guard. No fae were directly involved.... but when one group nicknaming themselves the Golden Saints decided to expand, they expanded near Fenix... and while their initial purge on the local gang which had been known as the Conquistadors meant it was more a hunt than a fight, the consquistadors soon rallied with others coming in from other streets.... and soon... the barony was a warzone!

Wear the wrong color, get shot. Be related to the wrong person. Get shot. Get in the way? Or even be on the same building ...while semi automatics flared...

well, accidents happen

Jessica hears, and carrying more than her usual weapon she heads to the tattoo parlor.

Tijuana is known for crime... everyone knows that, but this flare up is new to Jessica.

It looks like the window has been shot out at the Tattoo parlor, but it's still open even if the window is boarded up.

In two languages, a sign is up "The Establishment is not responsible for your well being"

"Crap." She mutters, and goes around the back.

She sees a figure in gold thread jacket checking the place out. He leers at her, pure mortal, shorter than her, younger htan her... dangerous perhaps, and yet...if he's hoping to scare her it's not working

She keeps moving, nothing to see.... goes where is safe and calls Duff.

Duff picks up the phone "Hello, Sea flower, you are well I hope? There is a bit of a ..tiff, going on"

"What the hell, Duff?"

"You think this is my fault?" Incredulous

"I need cover."

"GIve me five minutes"

She waits.

Five minutes later "It's clear"

Jessica emerges.

"Need to get back to Fenix."

"I thought yo ucame from Fenix, have you not been there yet?" He says. Somewhere a young man is glamoured to sleep. A mercy.

She frowns at that but joins Duff. "No. Let's go. Now."

He raises a brow at the frown, "You prefer I put a bullet in him ?" As they start to move "Oh, and the word is 'please'..." Duff veils them both with a touch to her shoulder "This is normal for this city, sad to say. "

She exhales as they move. "Yes, I was at Fenix, went on patrol heading here, but I didn't want to engage with that guy so I called you. Sorry, I'm.... I got a call from my dad, I need to meet him and mom up North but I hate leaving the place like this. But the purpose of the meeting could help the situation here.... so...."

"So you make the hard choice, this is a mortal situation, and will escalate, then die down. Have your people lay low and wait it out and focus on not getting involved and they should be safe"

Another sigh. "Old school. You're right." She glances at him. "Thanks. Thank you."

"You're welcome. I'll do what i caN do direct the violence further way from the hold still. This family thing will help the refugees?"

"In theory." Grimly.

"Well, your theoritical is doing more than many's actual. "

"We'll see. How deep in this new gang war are you?" Quietly.

"That's what alarms me.. I am not" he says "This caught me off guard." Bristling a bit, his pride is on the line here.

BIG frown. "Well.... don't -get- involved, ok? Not while I'm gone at least."

"Jessica, I need to get involved in order to direct it aWay from your hold."

"What happened to 'stay low, old school'?"

"I meant your people, not me"

"You -are- my people, Duff."

A throaty chuckle, "Oh we definitely need to talk... Jessica, you are as beutiful as the sun over the waves, but the only way someone calls the shots for ME is... hmm actually not sure there is a way"

"Anyway, we're not married, and I've never listened to nobles outisdeo f their hold"

"Yes, we -are- going to have to talk about that." Firmly.

"Most endearing..." He assures her.

"You might not want to commit to that till after we have that talk."

"Fine, but I'll handle things in my way. I do pretty well for myself you may have noticed" They slip closer to the hold...which looks..crowded. Looks like a lot of folks have already decided to lay low and they're doing it at Fenix

"No, Duff, I want you to stay low." She insists. "At -least- while I'm gone, and it won't be a long trip. I think." Worried about something other than the state of Renaissance. "Please. I have enough to worry about. And I'll -welcome- your help once I'm back."

"I'll think about it, Jessica" A firm look, stubbornness setting in if she pushes

She gives him a look, just as firm and stubborn. " I don't have any problem with people defending themselves, Duff. This meeting I'm going to may help relieve some of the pressure here. But we have to communicate and coordinate, and I can't do that from Kansas City."

"THINKING about it." He opens the door to her hold "Go on"

" damn it, Duff....." she mutters as she steps inside." Thank you for walking with me." A bit more graciously.

"You're welcome" He says

Diego , as steward comes up, "I checked the supplies... request permission to hit the DeBukes up for some flour and corn meal so we can provide meals?"

"Yes, of course. Maybe I should visit, if there's time." She speculates. "Thank you, Diego. Can you get everyone together? I have to have some time away, I'd like to update everyone."
