Yes, things are not bad here. Though the fire seems mildy jealous of it's new sibling. Silly thing.... just because there's a new sister doesn't mean Fenix herself will get one iota less of love

After a moment's reflection, Jessica goes to sit with her Balefire in quiet communion.

That seems to sooth the bale. If a bale can be soothed. Her mother told her about how Rivervale and she had a bond and 'talked'... and slowly, Jessica has been learning about Fenix's voice

She doesn't offer words.... just her presence. Her 'Fire respects her introvert nature; it doesn't demand attention nor draw it to her. They can just -be- together and be fullfilled in that.

And the two , freeholder and balefire, are happily 'alone together'.
