Jessica can't believe what she's wearing. Some of NEcropsis working girls have more fashion sense than this, and dignity!

"Duff!" She hisses vehemently. "REALLY???"

"I hate to tell you this, chica, but you do realize that the circles I"m checking out are not exactly progressive when it comes to women's rights, or even for that matter basic chivalry? THey keep women on their arms dressed provocatively, and as eye candy. Hell, you won't even have many speaking lines."

"This is.... RIDICULOUS! God, let me at least get a cloak or a coat or something....."

"You don't need a coat, we're in Tijuana in JUNE."

"Now, make sure you have the eyeliner enough to notice and then get out here and let's see mmm?"

"I need a coat to cover this nonsense up...." She mutters, and forces herself to check the mirror (wincing) one last time before sulking over to the door of her apartment. "Fine. Let's get this over with." Insult to .... well, insult, there's no way to carry her maul with her, she has to make do with a couple barely hidden (WHERE, EXACTLY!?!?) blades.

When she comes into view where he can see, he gives a low whistle, then reaches for his smart phone.

"If you take a photo, so help me GOD...."

"Now, Chica, let's not take all the fun out of being a man. Besides, I have to make a call"

She crosses her arms over what is basically a fun bra and leans against the door, waiting.

He does call someone, and speaks in Spanish, which she translates a lot easier than she used to, heck, time around Nec and nockers both have even help her translate the profanity "Hey, Marco, you asshole. Guess who ? Yeah I know, right? Listen man, I need an invite to the pit. Yeah, I know it's been awhile. See, that's the thing. I need it today. I'm calling it in. Hey? Come on. You maybe a mouthbreathing wall fucker, but you've always been a man of honor right? Good on your word? Yeah? Yeah." A pause, whoever is talking back, then he nods, "I Know, I know. Don't worry. I know times are tense." a nod , "Appreciate it you piece of human excrement. One love." He hangs up....

or seems to , she notices he angles it as he does ...son of... Duff just took a picture of her on the hang up.

She -scowls- at him.

"Not ok, Duff." Flatly.

"I ask for so little," The tattooist sighs, "Okay, it's not your style, I've seen things I like you better in," A pause "And out of, but can you blame a man for wanting to preserve a moment of daring?"

"Yes."

"Duff, this isn't -me.- Ok, I get it, it's the circumstances and I have to be able to get into the room and this does it with the least amount of questions and I don't want to blow your cover either but this isn't -me.-"

"I know it's not," He says "It's a costume."

"But you're right. You don't ask for much." More gently.

"Actually, mi amour, the part that's going to offend me on your behalf is when you have to act vapid and somehwhat shallow when you get to speak at all. That most certainly is not you, nor would I wish it to be." A frown "But ..'women do not talk when real men are speaking' is the mindset"

A deep breath. "This could go very badly wrong."

"Which is why I wanted you to stay behind, let me handle it. You do recall that part? It's not too late?"

"I'm dressed, I'm going."

"So you are" He says, "Let's go." No motorcycle of her own, not that she would normally mind holding onto him, but despite his talk of summer, it's a windchapped and cold zip to this 'pit ' place and Jessica may have a few opinions on what to do to these jerks who use this as a dress code for women after she's done with a few other projects. Or perhaps thats the frustration of trying to keep her clothes on talking

Jess bitterly wishes she -was- allowed to ride her own bike, but does burrow under Duff's jacket as much as she can both for warmth and to cover what she can.

The ride is quick, and yet takes too long given this. They head to what looks like a company owned lot, with wire fences and gates in place...yet Jessica realizes that if she ran a computer search on this company, sshe'd probably find they didn't really exist. They ride around the main gate where to men in knock off uniforms stand, and instead go to the 'service entrance' area where bigger meaner men with, geez, are those AR 15s. Yup. THat's them. Where AR 15s are held out openly.

Her grip on Duff tightens just slightly. Knives. Damnit, she brought knives to a gun fight.... if a fight there is.

"Hoja," He says "You guys know the way to the Red Rooster inn?" They nod and let them through, and he slides her off his bike (not that she needs him to)

She grits her teeth just slightly and allows it, passively waiting for him to lead her in.... but no, she will NOT give her hair touch-up strokes and reapply lip gloss. NO.

He pats her ass as the doors open to a large ware house area, which has a whole floor beneath it. The area they're on is largely metal grid where bars, tables, chairs have been set up. And below them? The fighters The pit is clearly not creatively named.

She follows along with him docilely.

Oh there are women here, and perhaps it is some small comfort that no, she is not the trashiest dressed one, not by a long shot. How are these women not FREEZING, summer months are no? There's a rush of AC and a few fans here and there after all

The men dress in whatever they think shows off their wealth. Finest urban style threads, old school three piece suits, and yes, man jewelry galore. They're like peacocks spreading their wings

And the women with them? Just more adornments

She gives Duff's arm a squeeze.

And there's glamour here... Duff seems surprised too.

She catches it, and frowns, looking around.

"This is not how it was before" He whispers, "But yes, I feel it too." There are kithain here, she knows it, but even they wouldn't explain... they come to the edge of 'the pit' where it's crowded and men cheer as two figures beat the living shit out of each other. Not kithain, but definitely kinian, and enchanted. They pay the two trolls above them no mind.

Now her fingers -tighten- tellingly around Duff's muscle.

There are dreamers here , up in the grid above. Some smell of glamour of greed, others pride, and a lot of anger, rage they get to express by the fighters. There's passion here of base need. It's...rather disturbingly alluring. Oh this is Winter glamour, unseelie glamour, and she can feel a tug one does not normally feel this close to Beltaine. One other thing occurs to her. This place is two spots short of being a Freehold. It's..suitable.

She gives Duff an incredulous look about it all.

Not vapid in the least.

"I swear, it wasn't like this last time I..." he quiets even his whisper as two men approach, one of them has two women, one on each side.

She works to get her expression back to blank.

"Duff," One man, dressed in a nice suit, shades, the suit is cream coloured, and two women are his, "I was surprised to hear you'd be about." The man is mortal. If he has fae blood it's so light she can't sense it

Duff smiles, "Good to see you, Senor Ranoldo. " A nod to the other man, younger, more 'street' "Dono"

She stares off in the distance, using her other senses to try and get a handle on what's going on here.

It is possible to ken without seeming to focus, after all, day dreaming and kenning are...well, not so apart. So she ignores 'Dono' eyes , or how Duff squeezes her thigh now or then to show how he owns her. Yes, this place could easily be transformed into a freehold. Blood sport should be a more banal thing, but no one can deny it stirs. She can actually see one mortal woman with a man looking over the ledge with a blood lust in her eyes. She's not thinking of the man she's escorting. She's having very ...primal urges about the males below, the ones fighting. She's imagining herself as some kind of prize. Jessica? Jessica can feel her own interests stiring, but not in the same way of course. For her Beast, there's other power diferentials, other temptations or , at least, a variance on the themes others might have. One could easily put a balfire down below near the fighters, away from the crowds, and .. dear lord, she's almost feeling an appetite.
