They make their way to what appears to be a lovely natural stream, but on the surface and in the spray, Chromatic hues break out Chimerically.

Brekke looks very pleased. "Beautiful."

"Not to be fished, I assume?"

"It can be in moderation, but you'd have to have a lisence to appease human authorities"

"Of course. I was more concerned about protected chimera within it."

"Ah, there is one talking fish, but you're free to hook him as long as you let him go back. He finds it a challenge"

An actual half-grin at that. She nods. "Yes, I think I will like it here."

Frank's beard moves at that, shifting, and he nods.

"He CAN be a bit snarky, fair warning." a smile though

"I can respect that." She stands close enough to Frank that their arms brush briefly.

They can visualize a place near here. Living here. The trees are evergreens and defiant of the cold already building.

Indeed the cooling September temperatures seem to invigorate Brekke. "Yes...I think this is it. Baron, we may need to impose upon your Lodge's hospitality from time to time as we are building, at least at the early stages."

"It is no imposition from a fellow Falcon, ma'am"

"Our thanks. I think, though, camping will suit us well for a start, while the land purchase is settled." She looks to Frank to check if he agrees.

"Could be months to complete the sale. Colder weather is coming." he points out, neither pro nor con.

She nods. "Camping to start. And we have the Rig. But yes, the Lodge's hospitality will be most welcome."

Frank makes a hrmphm noise. Good points. It would be worth staying here a while if we wish to buy it.

"If you want to look around without me , I understand . Couples sometimes want to mull things over without a third party. I'll be down the stream when you need me." He doesn't SPEAK troll but seems to know when it is being used, and is not offended

"Thank you, Baron." Brekke's grateful that he understands this. She and Frank begin walking the land a bit, but don't speak to each other until he is out of easy earshot.

"Perhaps I should not have expressed certainty so quickly, but...I think you agree on this place."

And Snowmantle nods and is ...further down out of ear shot

"Mm. It is beautiful. I wonder if he might have other motives."

"Such as?"

A low rumbling chuckle. "Not sure. Don't know the man, really, don't know the environment here. Old habits, I guess."

She reaches out and touches his arm. "Your instincts have often served us well. And I do not mean to suggest that I think you are wrong. It is wise to keep our eyes and ears open as we learn this new place. But Sylvi and Gerd both spoke well of them." ((OOC: I forget who else served as emissary here -- was it Dagmar?))

((Oh, I knew Sylvi for certain. And yes, I think it's Gerd I'm thinking of.))

Frank nods. "No offense taken. I trust both Sylvia and Gerd in the matter.... for the extent their experiences allow them."

She nods. Some silent walking for a bit, noting features of the land and 'listening' for a spot where building a home would not disrupt the land too much. Not actually casting a cantrip, just feeling it out.

Frank is content to follow her lead; she is more in tune than he.

She finds a patch of ground that seems almost... cleared by trees, as if they made room decades ago

Squirrels in those trees eye them, then shrug and go on with squirrel stuff

A raised-brow look as they enter the clearing. She paces out the ground a bit, then gives the surroundings a critical look in all directions. Eventually, she looks to Frank again and nods: This is very good.

A raven settles nearby, not a crow, a true raven.

Brekke looks to it, then gives a respectful nod.

It seems to nod back, and flaps to another tree as if to visualize changes to come.

Frank eyes the area, nods to the bird; he is considering the size of the building they will want and estimating if the clearing is large enough.

It looks to be quite spaced out. One side more open than the other, which might make a good view

Brekke paces a distance away, turns at a spot to indicate the far corner of a structure.

Frank paces along a 'side wall,' forming another portion of the structure opposite hers.

She considers the dimensions they're suggesting, and nods again: Should be more than enough.

It might have an area that sort of 'steps up' dependinng on the floor plan, but doable

It could not accommodate anything the size of Rivervale Lodge...but then again, it doesn't need to.

Frank looks around for where they might put an outbuilding....

Over there is possible, Over there being to the northwest

She follows his gaze and sees the over-there spot. Another nod of approval.

Frank eyes it for size; big enough to create housing for 6-12 people?

It would have to be two story, but yes.

"Could be tight for guests." Frank observes.
