Lucky takes a breath and rises to go talk to the baron, presumably

Coradel stays where she is, composing her face to a mild neutrality suitable for afternoon tea.

Coradel can hear a voice "your TINY hold can't maintain that many... and we wouldn't want to tax it's resources. You barely make your debts to us as it is" said voice tuts

She approaches at the sedate pace of mild curiosity. "Is something wrong, Freeholder?" she says to Lucky with an air of complete innocence.

The Baron is a sidhe, of course, hard to tell his house. Lucky is saying to him "We can manage. Indeed, we look forward to it if he wishes to stay with us rather than go to his old home"

Then Lucky says "Ah, Baroness Coradel, this is Baron Jirwin. Baron Jerwin, Baroness Coradel. Nothing wrong, I hope. I was just trying to explain to the baron our hold CAN handle a new fledge"

"You know my rules, Lucky," The baron tuts "If he's not been formally brought to my court, then you can't petition to keep one, and it's a bit late for that now" He looks at Coradel in surprise "A guest? Charmed." He inclines his head

Coradel gives a graceful nod to the baron in return. "A pleasure, Baron. I think there's been some misunderstanding, though. We were just discussing it, in fact. The fledge was the victim of an abduction, and not in the sense of Rescue. I think you'll agree that the leaders of his home have the right of first refusal, and the leaders of the location of his dream dance have right of second refusal, yes?"

"Abduction?" He looks at Lucky "Lucky, you were dealing with ABDUCTION?"

Lucky says "We sought to give him a good home, Baron, but were not the ones who abducted him, indeed, the one who did is far from here"

"Oh, no! I'm so sorry, I didn't make that clear. The fledge was abducted by a third party, who has since been handled. Freeholder Lucky was merely hosting us before we continue on to bring him to his home." Which is, technically, true at the current moment.

"Oh, how kind, but clearly wherever his from is not up on security. It behooves me , as a proper lord, to take the new fledge under my larges." Jerwin tuts

A slight pause before Coradel says, "What a generous and selfless offer, Baron! Very impressive. Jerwin... may I call you Jerwin?" she says sweetly.

"But of course, Corey" He smiles endearingly

A beaming smile that might hide grinding molars. She takes his arm as she asks, "Is it just Jerwin?"

"Of course not, Jerwin Highworthy" he answers "Now, Corey, I'm sure your barony has IT'S ways, but I've found that in mine, the best way to get anything done right is see to it myself. Don't you worry, this new fledge will be cared for in properly instructed."

"Oh, I wouldn't dream of telling you how to do things in your own barony," she says as she strolls a bit about the room, pulling him along with a gentle insistence. "Although I must admit, I haven't seen much of your barony, yet. Where is your baronial manor?"

"Joslyn Castle, a grand hold" he says with pride

"Oh, that's lovely. My manor at EarthRunes is one of my prides and joys. But of course, a barony is only as strong as its weakest holding, don't you think?"

A dreamy sigh, "I do so love seeing the commoners thrive."

"You know, the WEAKNESS of this hold is exactly why I think it is time I turn it int oa fief, with a proper knight of my choosing to run it"
