Piper looks relieved at Jonas's brightening back up, but then she gives a little scoff and a toss of her head. "Jonas, my love, you trolls may know oaths, but I know satyrs. It's true, to the heart, but not to the body. We have already been through this, our triad - you can't tell me you'd really be happy with an oath that said I was sharing less than the whole of myself?"

She smiles at him. "It's what I want to do. You know I'm not one for oaths... but for us, the thee of us? I'm not going in with half measures."

"We'll have to tweak it anyway" Jonas says "To make it fit three. " he brushes her face "I am sorry. In this, your kith's nature being different means, Siv and I might be unfairly worried that it would.. hurt you to trap you too tightly. But you know yourself best. We trust you. And if that's how you want to oath, I... well, " he glances to Siv "You're not the only one who might want a softer oath."

Siv blinks, then "Oh goddess, tis because I'm Fiona, isn't it?"

At this JOnas says "Yes. But, also, you're a spy. I don't know what tools you have to use.... to. .ah.."

Siv snorts, then looks to Piper "Should I kiss him for his concern or slap him silly for some of the implications?"

Piper searches inward for a moment or two, then says "I give a gift of myself to thee. Take it freely; freely is it offered, and forever thou hast me in thy keeping. I swear love unto you and pledge my troth. May those who watch over this oath and those who keep it, and may we never find fault in their eyes."

It is clear she memorized it.

"It is not the satyr oath that clearly states it allows straying and playing as long as one's heart remains at home. It says I pledge my troth. What is truth to one may not be the same truth to another. We make our own truths to each other, and if we know in our hearts that one is true, even if Siv uses her tools, even if I get caught up in a GOP frenzy... I'm not saying these things are planned, or likely, or even imaginable... but OUR truth would be between us, and what makes an oath bent or broken would be decided within our hearts."

She gives a sheepish smile. "Not that I'm trying to coach a troll on oaths... might as well try to teach Rikki where to put a whoopie cushion during the state of the nation address..."

JOnas has the decency to blush

Siv quotes, "The Fiona oath of betrothal goes like this : Lady/Lord, to you I give all the affections and warmth of my heart that these may ease you across miles and years to come. I will be your friend, your companion and your mate as you desire. In desolate hours shall I keep you company and on the field of battle bear your token with pride and honor. Never shall you be lonely; never shall your tears go untouched by my hand. Ere my bond be broken, no longer shall my loins find pleasure; no longer shall my heart find gladness in carnal pleasure. May the teeth of Fiona's silver lion tear me asunder if I betray your trust!"

"Both are lovely," Siv nods to Piper, "But both leave a lot of wiggle room and purposefully so."

That last to Jonas

"Personally? I like the traditional one. Less is more. It's simple, and doesn't try to overstate that what we'll already know in our hearts."

Though she gets an impish gleam at the term "wiggle room".

Jonas admits "I DO .. AH I mean..." he blushes "I like traditional. I suppose in this, my fear is... if anyone of us slips, I don't want that damned gross bird on the shoulder for all to see. I don't want some damned mark of shame eternal on someone I love even if they broke my heart and I don't want it on mine if I get tricked like Arthur by Morgan le fey or ..."

Siv blinks at this "Jonas, that's not... that last, would not fall on you. Rape by deception is not betrayal by the victim. Piper is right, troth and truth are... do you think we'd blame YOU if that happened? Surely you'd not blame us if we were treated so?"

"Of course not," He says to the latter, "I might turn into something large and tear apart who ever did it to you but it wouldn't be your fault"

"That damn bird... as you put it... shows up if we break our oath. But who decides what is broken, but us? " She reasons.

"Any oath that said that it would be broken if someone was taken against their will, or tricked? That's not worth the breath it was spoken with."

"And the one wronged can possibly lift a punishment, traditionally" Siv explains "Ye see, the Dreaming works symbolically, intent more than technicalities is often the case, though admitedly with the rare contract art, that isn't so much. Now, the studies are varied and hotly debated, but as Piper says, we trolls live and die by oaths so the studies on our parts are profound and.."

Jonas was smiling at PIper and nodding, but as Siv rambles, he blinks, then he says to Piper "Is it just me, or is she sounding like a Mountain herself?"

"if you mean, is she making me want to climb her with every breath, then yes..."

"Imagine what she could do in a pair of glasses perched on her nose talking like that" Jonas says faux somberly, "The sexy teacher vibe would be strong."

"Mountain?" Siv blinks "Glasses? I just.." She blushes "My da was the mountain, and now it's Uncle Vali. Talk sense" Yes she actually blushes, then, Fiona curiousity hits "Have we DONE the sexy librarian or hot teacher thing yet?"

"When you found out about my name, you ended up dressing as Ginger and Mary Ann and made me play the 'naughty professor' trapped on the Island with you" He reminds "But I suppose the next 'brainy sexy' would be your or Piper's turn. " He says noting that he's definitely got both of the women he loves visualizing. Then, just to intrude on their daydreams that MIGHT be happening, he says "But we're getting off the subject." A breath "Fear is embarrassing, a good advisor, but a terrible ruler, and I won't let it stop me from being happy. I absolutely think the three of us should Oath True hearts. Piper is right, OUR Troth, OUR Truth, will be what matters. And Siv, you're right too. Our love, not our lettering, will guide our oath of love." And he kisses Piper sweetly, then Siv in turn. "But.. after we get out of the hospital? I don't want it to be in here"

"Egads, no." A glance around and a shudder. "Do you want a wedding? I'd be happy with something simple - but to be honest, I'd be happy with anything as long as the three of us are together - big or small. " To Siv, "Would your parents forgive us if we ran off to Vegas?" Only half joking.

"Given they're running off to Alaska" She declares "I'm tempted." Then she says "I wouldn't mind a LITTLE flash? We could married at sea?"

"We're not keeping it that simple," Jonas almost sounds fussy, "I plan to only get married once, and I'm wearing a suit, and there's going to be a fuss."

'Ah yes, international waters, in case we need to make a break for it..."

"Norway's lovely this time of year," Siv declares "Just saying"

"No no no," Jonas fusses, "We want our friends there. V&V too, and your parents, Siv. The whole lodge and goldfinch crew too. Anne Marie. This is important. It is a once in a life time situation. Balloons, music, long dresses..."

Siv looks at Jonas adoringly, then shares a glance to Piper

The thoughts the Fiona are offering up to Piper are obvious. She finds it sweet that Jonas, out of all of them, is being the big romantic softie and stickler for the wedding.

She is gazing at Jonas in some small astonishment, but adoration. "You're such a softy... just promise not to become a bridezilla?"

"Are groomzillas okay?" he asks sheepishly

"No, but I think we can keep you from going full tilt with it " Siv nods "I guess a big to do is fine, BUT Piper and I reserve the right to trim the fat off it a bit, or put our own personal touches here and there. Something will be vetoed before we're done, and none of us should pout too much about it. Fair?"

Still sheepish "more than fair. Thank you."

She grins. “Dibs on booking the music…”

Then a sigh. “Too bad we can’t have a honeymoon. What with the babies and all..” then she pauses and glances at Siv. “Hm.”

Siv goes "mmm?"
