Meanwhile... visiting hours are ending soon, and Jonas is ousted from the NICU. As he walks down a hallway towards the recovery wing, he is suddenly jostled from behind! A female voice,

"Hey, big guy. Give a girl a hand, will you?"

He turns at this , "mmm?"

A short redhead, he recognizes the clurichaun he saw earlier. This time she is pushing a large hospital bed on wheels, and that's what bumped into him. "Got a bum wheel on this one, it's like when you get the shoddy shopping cart. Give us a push, will you? You're in room 412-13, right?" Naming Piper's room.

The bed is empty of any occupants, just folded sheets.

"I don't want to leave my truehearts for long" he says, "But in the short term, certainly. I'm Jonas by the way" He begins to push the bed watching that wheel

Truehearts might not be the right word, no oaths exchanged, but they are also not his wives. Sometimes it troulbes JOnas that the depths he'd like to convey lack.. recognition

"I know who you are." Cairrean smiles, then adds, "That is, I know of you. Symon says you help his mom out a lot."

"And I wouldn't dream of keeping you from your boos. After all, that's where we're headed. Got a roommate for Mz. McCormick, right here." She pats the empty bed.

"You must be Cairrean then, Anne Marie mentioned you" A brow lift "A room mate? I thought she had it to herself. Pardon, but we've already met one 'chilly' doctor"

A wry smile. "Private rooms cost beaucoup bucks. They were going to put that harridan who was haranguing her daughter in law in with you. I twiddled some paperwork so that you have Mrs. Kemp instead." She taps a finger on her nose and winks. "Of course, she checked out yesterday, but no one really needs to know that."

The bed they are pushing does have a chart on it as though it belonged to a patient.

She wrinkles her nose in disgust. "Dr. Bradford is a real chill pill. Good doctor, terrible bedside manner. I recommend you avoid her like the plague. Except people don't actually avoid the plague these days, do they? Avoid her like wearing stripes with plaid." Chattery!

A brow lift, "I recall that lady. Mmm thank you. It is appreciated. How do you stay... yourself, when working with such people as Doctor Bradford? "

"Well, to start I'm not in pediatrics or maternity. If that was my specialty, I'd probably have transferred. Or put strichnine in her guacamole." An overexaggerated sigh, "It's much harder to poison someone IN a hospital, you know?" Flashing a grin. "It's a big campus, and I only have to put in so many residency hours a week. Easy enough to peep her schedule, y'know."

"Clever" he notes "How is Symon doing by the way? I have not seen him recently"

"Oh, he's up to his elbows in corpses and loving it." Her nose wrinkles a bit. "Cadaver studies suit him though. He's got a good bedside manner for a coroner."

"Symon will be very good at it. He loves a mystery and is good at solving them" A nod "He's.. a good man." The bed is no trouble for Jonas

Soon they're turning down the hallway towards the recovery wing. "Okay, I gotta jet before they realize I'm on my 3rd break this hour." A sly grin. "But if anyone comes looking for this patient, just tell them a nurse wheeled her out for testing. Oh, and remember, the guest limit is 2 per patient, so if anyone comes to visit... " A glance at the sheet, "Pammy - ugh, what a nickname - they don't count towards your lover's limit, catch my drift."

She does smile at the praise for Symon. "That's my scarebear." She smiles. "No one else quite like him."

A tilt of his head, then "Thank you again, Cairean, you've been kind to us. It's appreciated"

"Hey, we're all in the same club, more or less. If you need anything, just have me paged."

and a nod about Symon, "I may do that."

"I'd say, 'a friend of Symon's is a friend of mine', but that hasn't exactly proven true. Aaaanyway, gotta fly." Checking her phone as it beeps, "Someone sent treats to the nurses lounge and if I dont get there in 5 minutes it will just be crumbs!"

A wave and she trots back off down the hall.

Just in time to miss Siv and Piper coming around the other corner!

They catch Jonas putting the bed in place.

Jonas lights up when he sees Piper and Siv, "I missed you both. This is for your room mate, Piper. But, there's more to it."

Piper says "She's got a roomie?" A face "I suppose that shouldn't surprise. Why are YOU shoving a bed in though?"

"Bad wheel, and Cairrean asked for help. I know some aren't warming to her, but she's done us a great service. I'll explain more when we're inside the room" He says low "And frankly, she doesn't seem as bad as Dagmar claims"

Siv's brow knits and a slight frown goes on her face. But she nods and with Piper goes into the room to get that privacy

"Huh. Well, I'll not look a gift horse in the mouth. I was hoping that side of the room wouldn't get taken up." Once Jonas explains why he brought in the spare bed.

She checks her own bed over and under before climbing in. "Making sure Rikki didn't leave any surprises..." Peeking under the pillow just in case.

Siv checks the NEW bed, for bugs of both sorts.

"Well, it turns out we may owe Carrean. She tinkered with paperwork so that you have Mrs. Kemp as a room mate. However, Mrs Kemp checked out yesterday, but no one needs to know this, or so she points out."

The bed is large and comfortable.

Siv looks up at this, "Did she now? Mmmph" She does not look won over

Piper gazes lovingly at Siv. "Are your spy senses tingling? Maybe she just wants us to owe her a favor, if the 'goodness of her heart' is suspect."

"I didn't notice anything wrong with the bed " She did get distracted, "But that's not it. Symon has been treating dagmar and Sylvi like a stranger since Carrean came in. And She treats him like he's an unpleasant if useful pet... I know Dags can get territorial, but Sylvi agrees with her, and between the two of them, that's enough to have my guard up."

"She spoke of her 'scare bear' most affectionately" Jonas says "And, I think is hurt that his friends are not taking a liking to her"

Siv mmphs, then realizes she looked for tech, but not glamour. SHe kens the new bed

She finds... a bed!

With a slightly wonky wheel. Annoying, that, but not booby trapped.

"Well, enough about Symon and what's-her-butt. The idea of him snuggling is enough to turn my stomach. Did you SEE that thing he submitted for the last artisan contest at Pennons? I swear they gave him an award just to make him put it away."

Siv chuckles at that, "Knowing Symon, the idea he grossed out and extorted a prize probably made him truly proud. He's a canny one. Though I STILL don't agree with that wacky trap that nearly killed half the party..."

"Let it go, love, they raised dead your cleric" Jonas reminds.

"Mmph" Siv says

JOnas moves to Piper and gives her a kiss "How are you?"
