She stifles a weak giggle. "I don't think I can wait weeks to get the babies home. There has to be SOMETHING we can do..." She is getting a stubborn look on her face.

"Quite a few things" he nods "But cantrips can go wrong. Even healing ones, so we best use dross and be sure if we try. Also, if we take the children clandestinely, what is to stop the police from showing up to tell us about a kidnapping?"

He strokes Piper's face, her stubborn Stubborn face, "Or did you have another idea?"

She pouts. "Ask Chief Clementine to send some cabbages from the farm, ask Siv to sub them for the babies and walk out the door."

He considers it "It would work, in the short term, yes. After that, I think we have similar problems. Why don't we talk to Siv and the others about it? " he advises

Part of him is already sorting out how it could work. Cabbages, a bit of metamorpisis, a bit of chicanery to help. Two wonderful babies with healing magics that would surely work if the dreaming be just. And Piper out of here

She hesitates. "It was a joke. But.. I worry. What if healing magic doesn't help them, because they're not sick? It can't make them grow and develope... I mean, freeholds do the opposite, don't they?"

"Depends on if they're enchanted, and even then it can provide health, but yhes, it can slow aging" he ponders "Spring magics though promote growth in health, not just undoing wounds. But, I do think we should give it a week before we contemplate tampering magicly? See how the hospital is doing for them? I.. hate it, but I want them safe and if that is the best way. Then that is the best way"

HUFF. "If I could walk, I would be pacing! Can we at least have guests?"

"I would think so" he nods "Brekke and Frank are grandparents now... "He pauses "oh tyhe don't even know yet. Mmm"

"I can text Rikki to let everyone know..."

"Uh, no offense, but won't the message be somewhat garbled? "

"Oh, shoot." But she laughs a little. "Can you imagine? She'd love it. Okay, um. Well, we can call the lodge and see who's there? I'd send a text, but that seems so... impersonal. And this from a millennial."

A smile at her, "You're right. That's very courteous. Do you want to make that call?"

A swallow. "Maybe you can? Or Siv? I'll call my moms, I better let them know or they'll be on the next plane to yell at me for not telling them sooner."

"Sounds like a plan" he agrees, . He checks a text from Siv, one they BOTH just got. Franklyn Lyric is so sweet. They let me touch her hand after I santized. I'm with her still. And Valr Harper maybe out to see you again soon. We should wait for pictures for when they're both a bit stronger I think.

Jonas reads, then says "Siv used the names we picked... but changed the I in Franklin to a Y"

"Oooh. Oh, I like that! You don't think Sir Franklin the Elder will be offended, do you?"

"Not a chance. Still has Frank in it, and he'll know who that honors" he's trying to call the lodge "I don't even know what time it is now...hope someone is up"

"They want to know if we want them to bring food, or do anything for our apartment" he tells her

...and it looks ike she dozed off during the phone call.

He smiles, then wonders, did Piper just call her parents and fall asleep WHILE it was ringing? Oh this could be interesting

He picks up the phone, now having one in each hand "Hi. Jonas here. Sorry about that... Piper wanted to call you both and let you know that you're both grandmothers"

He's not even sure which one he is talking to

"I'm sorry, maybe I should make sure I'm talking to the right folks. Please tell me I've got one of Piper's moms?"

He's noW a bit alarmed
