Siv arrives to find Piper snapping at a nurse. The lady is trying to put an IV in the satyr's hand, and as she pokes one more time, she gets her hand SMACKED! "Stop that! I'm not doing ANYTHING until - Siv!" She exclaims in relief as the Troll is directed in.

Meanwhile, Jonas is directed to a bay of uncomfortable chairs, where an older lady is fretting into her phone in some distress.

Siv moves towards PIper's side, "It's okay. Piper. I'm here. Jonas is out in the hall, he wants to be here, but he they won't let us both be here "

HUFF. "I don't want to be here either!" Piper snaps, clearly frazzled.

JOnas has been around a boggan too long, so he pries a bit, seeing what the lady is upset of

Siv nods "I know, Pip, I know. But you're not alone"

The lady snaps into her phone. "I cannot belive they kicked me out of the room! That is MY grandbaby being born in there! That little b..." She lowers her voice only a touch as she realizes that she is no longer alone in the waiting room, "..brat has tried to take my son away from me, and now she thinks she can kick me out? Just wait until the lead nurse comes back, I'll tell her a thing or two..."

Jonas backs away. This sort can get banal, or mean

Piper exhales, inhales, exhales, and then nods. The anesthesiologist, their namebadge says "Aren" gives the little mother a look, and then to Siv. "Will she let me install the IV now? I guarantee you, she'll want it." A bit dry, but amused more than upset. They have a tattoo of spreading leaves on one arm and colorful scrubs.

"Piper, you are going to want this. Remember, we planned on that part"

Siv doesn't say that might be the only thing going by Plan right now

Piper submits her arm, though it takes a moment to get it installed. "Tiny veins. But I'm a pro..." Soon she is all set up, swathed in a gown, and Siv is presented with a gown as well - only a moment wasted as the nurse swaps it out for a larger size after seeing Siv's height.

"You'll need to be in a gown as well, the OR is a clean room."

It's a bit of a blur from there - they are taken into a room, and Piper sat up so that they can give her a spinal block. Aren is brisk but friendly, and tells Siv every step they are taking before proceeding. "The IV is for fluids and antibiotics, and to dull the ache from the epidural. The epidural will make sure she doesn't feel a thing during the procedure. Mama, you're going to feel pulling, and pressure, that's it."

Soon they are in the OR, and there is a sheet suspended that blocks Piper's view - as well as Siv's. She could peek around if she wanted, but has been cautioned not to. "If you pass out, they WILL leave you on the floor." She is advised.

Siv switches promptly, and is glad to keep her rapier unseen by her side. When they block her view, she fidgets but holds onto a hand if allowed while blocked view wise

The fussy lady has marched back to the desk and is arguing with the nurse there again. "Do you KNOW who I am? You're going to regret this!" The nurse looked tired, and bored. "Uh HUH. I'll take down your complaint." When the woman turns around, Jonas catches the nurse crumpling up the note, and tossing it into a little wastebasket.

Jonas watches this unfold, and tries to see if he DOES recognize the lady. Some county official among human government?

Piper holds onto Siv with a deathgrip, the troll up by her head, and doctors bustling around her midsection. "I can't feel my toes. I can't feel my knees. Hell, I can't feel my $*&%$." She says, in a whisper to Siv, but a nurse catches it and muffles a laugh.

Siv whispers "Don't worry, when it is safe to do so, we'll give all of those a good work out"

The woman looks fairly well-to-do, but no one that Jonas recognizes - ah, what was that name she said? It sounds familiar, he may have seen it on some philanthropic donation lists, though with a male name, perhaps her husband. "That's M-I-P-P-L-E-T-O-N. MIPPLETON. Mrs. Gregor Mippleton, yes, the same who donated to build your new..." She rattles on, agitated, until she's interrupted by a SACCARINE sweet tone. "Mrs. Mippleton! THERE you are! Tildy Mippleton, is that right? Oh, goodness, some moron must have sent you to the wrong desk."

The new person who arrives is wearing the scrubs and badge of a nursing resident, but she looks vaguely familiar to Jonas - short, pretty, with delicately curved ears - not sharp as a sidhe, but fetching in their own way, holding back locks of silky red hair. What was that Clurichaun's name? Wait, of course Jonas knows it, Anne Marie keeps mentioning "that nice girl Symon needs to bring home already!" Her nametag says a mortal name, of course, 'Karen'.

Jonas is surpried by this, and for a moment he is worried 'Karen' could be in danger from Mrs. Mippleton, but maybe the latter isn't THAT banal? It seems she has this in hand. Though he's not sure placating the woman is for the best

He does Ken the situation (Will roll best guess if you like?)

Cairrean does notice Jonas - it's hard NOT to notice a troll, after all, but other than a little fingerwiggle of acknowledgement, she is focused on the upset lady.

"Oh, Mrs. M. It's terrible how you were treated. Not the fault of poor mama after all, is it? It's this incompetent staff, you just can't find good help these days... who was it, Theresa, on call in there? Tsk. Well, your daughter in law, she can't be blamed now, if the nursing staff is insubordinant... let's get you over to her recovery suite, I'll have some snacks brought up and you can compose a proper complaint letter to their supervisor."

Jonas can sense - it's not a cantrip, but rather a clurichaun's innate skill at work. Mrs. Mippleton is just as irate, but her ire now directed wholly at the poor unpresent nurse, and not at her laboring daughter in law.

A wink at the troll, and Cairrean leads the lady away through a set of doors and out of sight!

Jonas decides to help the nurse evade if she returns. For now? He paces near the room he cannot enter.

The air in the OR is all business. It's neither banal nor glamourous, though, just - professional, as they work. It's actually... only a matter of minutes before suddenly - there is a CRY! A gasp, and then a wail splits the air! The attending OBGYN turns away from the dividing sheet, a red squalling thing in her arms.

Siv gapes in wonder at the tiny little person. A person the three of them made.

With an air of practice, the babe is quickly weighed, measured and then - Siv is being offered a bundled up nugget! The little face is red and screwed up, but not crying - "Here, show him to mama. Miss Piper, you have a son." Not quick sure of the relationship of the large blond to the tiny one, but it's not important at the moment, as Siv finds a baby in her arms!

The doc hurries back to the other side of the sheet.

Siv takes her, "Hey, " She whispers to the baby "I'm your Mor. Let's show you mama, huh? You'll like her. " Then she moves to Piper and gently hands the baby to her, and whispers again "It's our first son. "

Piper is a little shaky, and Siv finds that she needs to support the babe for Piper to see him. "Really? Really really?" She is crying, but smiling.

"Really, really really" Siv assures, and she looks Piper over with gentle concern, "You okay, Pip?" Noting PIper isn't feeling strong enough to hold the baby

The anesthesiologist has remained on the 'clean' side of the sheet with them, monitoring Piper. They check her vitals and reassure Siv, "She's fine, it's just the anesthetics. She'll be a little weak until they wear off, just support her arm there, that's right. Lovely baby - they all are, but yours is too." A wink and reassurance.

The operating crew is talking in hushed tones - "Gauze there, yes, and a few more sutures, and she'll be closed up. Good, nice and clean."

It takes a minute or two for Siv to realize that she has not been handed a second babe.

Siv smiles, then blinks "Uhm, Doctor?"

Siv cranes her neck to 'seek' the other baby

"5.4 lbs, a good size, and nice and pink." One of the nurses is admiring the baby boy, and Piper is beaming.

The OB looks up, and gestures Siv to step over. The nurse offers to take the babe.

"5.4... good, good for early arrival..."Siv gently hands him over to the nurse "Be right back" then steps over to the OB

"Miss... sorry, what was your relation?" The Doctor doesn't seem to be judging, but uncertain how to address Siv.

Siv does not hestitate, "I'm her partner, and the gent outside is too. We're a throuple, happily so. Not for everyone mind you, and I realize not everyone approves. Now, about our other child?" The last said in a whisper "Is everything okay?"
