On the deck of the Kestrel...

Brekke stands at the edge of the deck and regards the horizon.

Frank trolls the wheel; not entirely necessary but maybe it's for the look of the thing.

They've been aloft for about an hour by now, and finally Brekke turns and moves to join him.

The weather seems kind, some lovely clouds out there

She quietly says, "You did not have to leave with me."

A deep chuckle; as if he would not??

A slight snort, his amusement drawing a bit of hers. But not much.

After a moment: "The Leanhaun baited me."

"I was not there." Frank acknowledges.

"No. She had some choice words about you. And me." A pause. "It was a ploy."

Frank nods, agreeing with Brekke's statement.

A heavy sigh.

"I understand, I think, why Jessica removed me from there. But it means the woman does not know that her lover lives."

After a time "I think Jess might have been trying to choose mercy."

"Hmph." She folds her arms.

"Mm."

"The Leanhaun does not deserve mercy."

Another deep sigh. "I am sorry."

It as that point that something whooshes over their heads so abruptly that by the time they look up it's already past them by a few yards! The Kestrel rocks back and forth from the downdraft it creates!

Frank takes appropriate actions!

Brekke has Speaker in hand and is about to throw it at the target.

Is that.... a VW bus with a balloon on top?

Nockers.

Her brow furrows. That looks vaguely familiar. She scowls about the reckless driving, but she lowers her axe.

"Brekke?"

"Nockers. Joyriding, not attacking, I think."

"Mmphm. Not the right time."

And it's away, in a puff of violet smoke and a peal of 80's guitar.

A trail of pure awesome lingers in its wake!

"Mmmphm."

Brekke watches it diminish in the distance.

Then she looks to him. "We should head back."

"Back where?"

"Home. The Lodge. Not Fenix."

Frank nods and with a touch to the wheel... they are on the way.

No one will ever know of Janet's noble defense of Dream Earth against the FURIOUS Plutonians, who have not taken the unjust demotion of their once mighty dream planet well! Such is the path of the Genius Scientist Heroine!

And Brekke and Frank? return home
