She grabs his hand "Ready to go?"

"Yes, of course, Dearest. Wherever you say." Dryly.

But yes, the evidence is planted with as much safety as he can muster and together they depart for the safe house. At last.

Unless.....?

They slip out, more patrols, but they're farther out, and miss them as the two go by. It looks like any attempts to capture our satyress and boggan will result in failure.

And they make their way to the safe house.

It's not much; an apartment in a lower-class neighborhood, unremarkable and leaving the Powers That Be wondering why anyone would want to be there. Which suits William just fine.

CC kisses him "Ooo you take me to all the best places" A laugh

"Dearest.... " he fusses.

Then relents, "You were right to trust your senses and go to that house. Thank you."

"Well, it was as much luck..." She says "Maybe they can save the artist"

He looks uncomfortable. "Yes. There's that."

"Are you okay?" She strokes his cheek

"Perfectly fine. We'll stay here a few hours, and then make our way home."

She takes his hand "Yes. It's a good safe house" CC smiles "Should I speak in a drawl, cook some grits ?"

"Ffft. Are you hungry, then?"

"You know my appetite gets stirred after a caper"

"Of course, my apologies for being unspecific." a little grin. "What would you care for? Grits? Something more meaty?"

"Food first, us after?" She smiles

"I'm not sure what we have here; it won't be -good-." He warns dubiously "Long-keeping, cans and such."

"A challenge." She says "Real cooks can work with less when they have to. And you are amazing"

"Mmph." Still, he heads to the galley-style kitchen and starts to rummage.

She breaks out a can "We have beans"

"I will take you out properly once we are safely home." He promises. The beans, however, are included. There are frozen hot dogs that can be thawed. A box of mac and cheese. Some condiment packets from a fast food joint. Some canned fruit cocktail.....

"oo .." She eyes the packets "Lot you can do with mixing the mustard in just right"

"I was just thinking the same thing. Here." He offers the packets and goes looking for a can opener.

And she gets to work on condiment mixing

"Hmph." He comes up empty, and resorts to hacking the cans open with a pocket knife.

There are paper plates and other disposable items, and soon there is a meal. Of sorts.

Of sorts? why this is a master piece of left overs, a opium magnus of make do!

It's just that good!

It's not bad; they'll survivie.

"Dearest, I have been thinking......"

"A dangerous habit" She hums

"I know."

"We'll have to open the Club."

"At risk of illness and authorities alike?" She says cautiously, but at the same time.. hopeful

"If we observe the mortal requirements. No alcohol, or limited service. Food, yes." a pause "Entertainment, no."

She looks stunned "I'm not to entertain?"

"You are -endlessly- entertaining, Dearest, but I might have to keep you all to myself for the time being." he tries to soften it "Just for now."

"Honey, my passion my purpose is singing.. I'll wither without..." A breath "How long you think?"

"Dearest, believe me, as short a time as possible. I am racking my brain to find a way." He takes her hand across the table. "You have done well so far, have you not?"

A bite of her lip "I'm not sure. Honestly, the grandkids help you know? I sing to them and it's..it's good. but fall is here ...green to red, Seelie towards un and I get... rather demanding of my passion the more I pass into winter you know that. I don't want you taking the fall out my bitchiness"

He laughs softly, squeezes her hand. "I -adore- your Unseelie states and will happily bear the brunt of your moods, as always. If you are concerned, though, would the DeBukes welcome you for a time?"

She leans over "Honey, at times the DeBukes are a bit on the boring side"

Another laugh. "I see. You are not wrong."

"I'm a city girl. I hope at least some of the grand kids feel the same."

"I am certain they will."

"My point is... not sure how long I can endure the farm over extended periods"
