Earl's eyes dance merrily "I know, how sharper than a serpent's tooth and all. Just warning you it might happen... but we agree the little one, girl or boy will be learning how important socks are?"

She picks up one of the new socks with a wry expression. "I suppose so."

"Now, the big question..." A breath "Do you know where you want us to raise the children?"

She blinks.

"Here?"

"But Farm living is good for the lungs" he explains "And farm chores will make them tall and strong"

She shakes her head. "Here is home."

"Here has become home."

"Forgive my teasing" Earl looks contrite "I Know it has, and it's my home too."

"I am sure my family would wish for us to go back to Scarsdale."

"And they would be a wonderful support system. But... Alabaster Hollow? Nay."

"I concur... Scarsdale is very nice, and I even SOMETIMES get silly fond about the farm, but .. we need our own place and this has become it"

"I do still have the housekey treasure."

He blinks "I'd forgotten about that. That's wondeful, we could put up a mortal home so to resist bedlam or dreamstruckness as might be the case. " A pause "I wonder if there is a clearing by the river we could legally use?"

"The River would be important." She closes her eyes, of promises cloaked in mist, of visions half-remembered.

"We'll ask and make sure"

"The between my trust fund and the book money... getting the land wouldn't be so bad."

"And my own savings aren't small.. Sally Mae had me make some investiments. I can sell stock"

"So. Okay."

"I... think we are? I mean, it coudl wait for a year or two when you're ready for the first one, but... on the other hand, getting it before hand would give us more prep time?"

She blinks owlishly and nods.

She leans against him, and nods.

He wraps his arms around her and holds her close "Well, you know you're going to have fun designing the house before it assembles"

"We could design it together."

"I would be happy to give my two cents but the important thing is you love it" He hugs her softly "You want it to be purple don't you?"

A raspy laugh. "Thou knowest."

"Then purple it shall be, but remember, you owe me a high place where I can go mad with dignity as you keep me there"

"And a widow's walk for me, to pace at midnight while storms beat at the shutters."

"Tis a pity I cannot truly wail."

"Da'an will hear you" He assures

"Mayhaps the wind may wail for me."
