August was very happy to tend to his wife's needs, no doubt.

But afterwards, he goes to the training yard to test his new /old blade.

But -Before- that, he goes to his study, blade carried in the scabbard, to write several letters.

All the letters follow along these general lines, and each is coded in whatever way House Liam uses to guard against prying eyes focused on House business -

[GENERAL GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS]

I have come into possession, as a gracious consideration for services rendered from His Grace the Duke of White Trillium, a sword of what I believe is a most rare nature. I am no expert in such things, however, and would beg you to advise me on the best course of action.

Would it be possible to meet, or would you be willing to send a knowledgeable representative to EarthRunes? I would be honored to have your expert as a guest here, for as long as needed, to ascertain the nature of this weapon and what the best disposition of it would be.

I am writing to contact [ALL RECIPENTS] in hopes of gathering different viewpoints and expertise. I hope you and the wisdom you wield can have bearing on this matter, for the betterment of House Liam and our cause.

He makes as many letters as he can think of appropriate recipients, all House Liam; Duke Tieron, certainly, his own House Mentor (Father ???), any others the player is forgetting.

Responses do come in, each coded in turn, with a few volunteers, though no one can come immediately. They do sound intrigued though.

Well, he hardly expected the letters to arrive immediately, be responded to immediately, or for arrangements to be made immediately. So that's well.

Leonora peeks in "Hey you, how goes?"

He looks up, and smiles. "Leonora. Good to see you; I think I owed you a visit, and here you have found me." he stands and goes to her, kissing her hand "Very well, thank you." he answers the question "And you?"

She smiles at the kiss, "Not bad, particularly at such a warm hello. Patrols go well enough, I've had enough adventures to keep a Fiona happy recently, and I threw money at some problems others were having and it helps. "

"All of that sounds like time well spent."

"Thank you. Nothing compared to the Scarlet Pimpernel Aticus Finch combo you've pulled off. I've met Antony. He's adorable"

"Ah, well, ah.... that is, Antony is a pooka; prone to exaggeration."

"Antony is not my only source for this news. A certain Eshu, Tziporah, has been telling stories "

August sighs. "Oh dear. Bear in mind that eshu -might- embellish for effect."

"You wear the mantle of heroism as if it gave you a rash" She chuckles

"I would not describe what happened as any heroism on my part."

"You wouldn't, but not sure that means it wasn't. You are on the modest side"

A simple shrug "I have not found it generally beneficial to seek attention."

"Well, you get attention anyway" A kiss on his cheek

A light blush. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. " She says "Oh, don't forget, Pennons is soon"

"I suppose it is. You'll be competing?"

"Always" A confident smile "SOMEONE has to humble your bride a bit in the archery contest"

August chuckles. "Due respect but, ah, I don't see her being humbled. At all. In any event." said with love.

A chuckle back "Nope, not really. But I still want to beat her in archery"

"I am sure she would want you to give it nothing but your best."

"SHe'd be mad if I didn't" A nod then "She's really missed you"

"I assure you, and I have assured her, I missed her greatly as well."

"Oh I know," A nod "But let's say she got a wee bit surly"

"Surly?" Concerned.

"Ired, irked, testy?" A nod

"Hm." he ponders that, brow wrinkled "I see."

"She worries, she understaneds but she DOES worry"

A soft chuckle. "Will you come in and be seated?" he gestures into his familiar (to her) study "Forgive my manners; shall I call for refreshment? I assure you, I was under no threat of danger."

She moves in and takes a seat "I hear you had a lunatic with cold iron you had to stop, and before that, Chimerical golems?"

"Ah... well, yes. I can't vouch for lunacy, of course."

"Uh huh" She smiles "Sounds 'dangerous' to me. Anyway, that refreshment"

"Of course, what can I get for you?"

He does have a small stock of refreshments for visitors.

"Mmm I should probably go with none alcholal , was going to patrol again. Got some iced tea?"

"Ahhh...." he searches "Yes, there seems to be some. I must leave a token of thanks to the staff."

"They're tops" She concedes

He pours them both a tall glass of iced tea. "Sugar and/or lemon?"

"Little bit of both, please"

He nods, fixes it, and passes her glass to her, then fixes himself a glass.

"Thank you. So, how was White Trillium, besides the awful attacks I mean?"

August sits, sips, and considers briefly "I, ah, I didn't really see much of it. From the Dreaming Trods to the Duke's seat to, ah, some conflict and resolution."

She sips "That's a shame, I hear it can be lovely"
