The seer Alamndine seeks out his liege

He's directed to the stable, where Samson is patiently enduring yet another mane-braiding experiment.

"Baroness, I bear news" He bows low

Coradel turns immediately, abandoning a handful of black ribbons that would have accentuated Samson's mane dramatically. "News? Of August? Tell me." He has her complete, undivided, and energetic attention.

It's a little intimidating, to be honest.

"He is alive, and healthy. It's all a bit of a blur but from what i could scry he appears to be something of a hero there now. "

He notes the intensity of her attention and inclines his head once more "The carriages source appears to have been found and dealt with" he adds

Her shoulders visibly relax at the first news. The second sentence brings the beginnings of a proud smile, and the third sentence secures it -- she's beaming. In fact, she abruptly pounces and gives Almandine a very happy hug!

"That's absolutely the best news I have heard in weeks!"

Then she suddenly steps back, her expression going serious once more. "Do you know if Zara is also well?"

"urk" But when it ends he says "As ever, our resident witch is only found when she wants to be. Apparently for a time she was in custody. That did not last"

A bit of a laugh. "I'd be surprised if it had lasted. Well, it sounds like we'll have quite a tale to hear upon their return. Hm." She releases his shoulders and starts pacing. "August is too humble to blow his own horn, and Zara too quiet and private. That means I'll need to have somebody hear the tale from them and then present it in a manner that can be properly celebrated...." She's clearly in planning mode.

"Tziporah IS with them, though the other Eshu headed Southwards after her part"

"Oh! Well, then, that problem's solved! We won't even have to wait for the tale to be related. Excellent! We'll have a grand celebratory dinner, and then she can tell us all the story!"

"I don't believe the other Eshu.. what was her name?" HE tries to recall "I don't believe she's returning here."

"Well, as long as Tzipora is, we're fine. It would be unlikely and unreasonable to expect two Eshu to adhere to the same itinerary, I think."

"This is true" He says

The Eiluned has noticed more regarding the 'heading south eshu' but isn't bothering to increase his work load by bringing it up.

His tone makes her pause and fix him with a curious glance. "And...?"

"Ruzgala, the other Eshu? Seems.. furious with the Baron for some reason, and took a dozen new chysalids south rather than to the Duke's estate. My theory is she's going to find each fledge a new hold... for a fider's fee."

A frown. "Furious...with August?" Disbelief, for clearly August can do no wrong when he's being heroic. Then the last part hits home. "She's intending to profit off of relocating them? Oh, absolutely not! Find out where she went."

"It won't be in your domain, Baroness. Your authority may not extend?" A genteel reminder

"No, but my influence very well might." In fact, she seems pretty darn confident that it will.

"I'll get on that, shall I?" He says, careful not to get too cheeky with it

"I'm not sure why you haven't started already," she replies, half-haughty and half-amused. "And...thank you, Seer."

"I live to serve, and even I know what it is like to worry about a loved one, Baroness" He does bow, respectfully, and goes to work.

She inclines her head graciously in return. When he goes, she turns back to Samson and regards her half-finished work. "Well, my darling, would your rather I finish, leave it half-done, or remove the evidence?" Apparently, the braiding project's appeal has vanished along with her concern about August.

Samson bumps her gently as if to say he's just glad she's feeling better.

She smiles and strokes his nose, giving the steed a kiss on his cheek before departing to speak with Delores about a celebratory dinner. Samson is left with a rakish half-braided mane with a smattering of ribbons. It may not have been what was intended, but he still looks stunning.

Indeed, one mare notices. The olympic viewings have gotten her a bit worked up anyway and the dressage is doing it for her!
