Earl looks over at her again, and kenns.

Well... a sluagh, yes. Wilder. Glamour that tastes of murky rivers and leaf mulch and tea.

He turns impassive

She drifts over to a book cart, idly going through the pile there - but she's got an eye on the sleeping bookwyrm. "Honestly, it feels as if it has been days since I have been here."

"It has been" He admits

"I must needs thank Velvet for her good care."

"She learned from the best"

"Aye?"

"I might be biased"

"Ah." A little smile. "Tis the way of it, nu?" She reaches out, back of her fingers brushing the scarlet lapel of his waistcoat.

"Oh I need to get a change to something non red. I'm actually tired of the color. Don't tell the Fiona"

Another flicker - surprise? Confusion? - but she nods. "I shan't. Change can be good. Mayhaps purple?"

"OKAY... Zara, what's going on? You had a mundane non magical diesase... delivered by magic but only the autumn part stuck. Clem told me that at the start. But you're acting very oddly as if you were and being super secretive... and I'm tryying to figure out whats going on but mostly"m feeling lost, frustrated ,and confused. "

"Clem.... entine?"

Her eyes widen, realization of something,

"Zara? What is going on?"

And.. Earl knows her tells, knows her like the back of his own hand. Her mind is going a mile a minute, calculating. "Many things are possible in the Dreaming...."

"Doubt not, Love, I mean you no distress."

"Okay... we're going to Uncle Emmit. I'm not smart enough to find out what's going with you but he is"

He takes her hand

"Ah... I... pray, I think... " A frown. Anyone else would miss the tension around her eyes and jaw, the ratchet of panic.

"Nay. I desire some tea." She shifts and pulls to free her hand, with the boneless trick of her kith.

"Fine. I'll bring him here then"

"Fine!"

"Naught is wrong." Her heart thuds like a hummingbird's wings.

He blinks "Something is, love... now I've been scared for days worrying over you... and Clem tells me you're recovering... but no...apparently out of no where you've gotten worse. You're tense. You're closing up and..." Then he reealizes what it MIGHT be.

"I am recovering, certainly. I... was just very ill, yes."

"Mayhaps I do not feel entirely myself, at the moment."

"Hold still, dear, I won't telport you away." He tried kenning before but it was next to useless. He has to try again. He puts his hand on her cheek " I love you."

She pulls back a step, wary.

"'m sensing... something that should not be there"

"I... shall, then. Yes. I would like some privacy?"

She reaches up to cradle his face with her hands, pulling him in, if he allows it.

He kisses her gentlyy

She returns the kiss. But it's... no. Something is off.

"Worry not, Love." As they break.

An unhappy squawk from the Raven - one that Zara does not seem to notice.

Earl pulls back, then scowls "What was that?"

"What was what?"

"I.... as you said, an omen may well be in order. I shall do so, anon." She starts to pull away.

"Zara, you're not acting yourself..." he says "So I want to be there when it is cast. You're not just going to use myu abscence to slip away. "

She swallows.

"I do not need to be smothered so."

"Oh yes you do..our kiss was wrong.. and did you not HEAR our trueheart bird?"
