Earl sees August in the hallway "Sorry about Leonora"

"Hm?" August looks up from his book, nestled into an alcove that allows sunlight and solitude.

"I'm sure she'll be okay" He nods "Hang in there" And starts to go on

"Wait, Earl, What??" August closes his book and stands; no bookmark.

Earl is walking down the hall, but at the call turns "She didn't send you word?"

August moves to catch up, and possibly not spill confidential information across the hallway. "I don't know what you are talking about."

"August... she got the shit beat out of her by a mortal street gang. I mean, I'm sure she gave as good as she got and she's gonna pull through but I... she asked me to transport her out of the hospital with magic. I thought you knew?"

"WHAT?!?" Shock, fear, and then anger shading to rage flicker across and fix to his expression.

"Take Me To Her. Now."

Earl backs up at the outrage flashing to his friend's features "Emma's on vacation so I took her to the farm. Clem's got her. Hold on"

He touches his friend's shoulder "Friend to Friend, the path opens. Transit glorium something"

And they vanish, to reappear at the farmhold!

"And that's why I love it here" One boggan maid is saying to another "All the drama. You never know what's next on the noble soap opera next"

"Well, I suppose. I just like it happy myself and... " the other starts to say when..

August and Leonora return, the latter looking a bit pale and wobbly still

August sways, not quite staggering, as they appear. "He really could give some warning...." he murmurs. (Quoted here for the record)

"I know" she says

August immediately offers his arm to Leonora, seeing her state.

"Well, this is embarrassing" She admits but takes the arm gratefully "Thank you."

"You're welcome." he responds.

"Now, we know how I feel.. wobbly. How are you ?"

"I'm well, thank you. Where may I escort you?"

"Where would you like to go? I feel like letting you spoil me if you're willing?"

A moment's thought, and he nods. "Of course."

"August... are you upset or hurt or... anything?" She says "The way Earl talked I get the feeling something was up?"

"No, Leonora. I am not the matter of concern; your health and well being is."

"I cannot speak for Earl."

"Hey? We can both care about each other. It's not an either or thing" She leans against him "Sorry. I should have texted but I thought If I could get healed quickly enough it wouldn't be a problem long enough for you to worry."

"Very..... thoughtful, in intent."

"uh oh" She looks him over "Mentioning my intentions were thoughtful makes me worry my actual actions sucked. Talk to me" She gives his arm a squeeze, but it's a weak one

"You do not owe me an account of your activities or movements, Leonora. You did not choose to be absent from Earthrunes. I'm not sure what your concern is."

"Well, maybe it's because I'm Fiona. We get a little nuts when someone we care for is in danger or hurt and can get dramatic about it .I..." She glances over the boggans who are watching them "Hi, Ladies."

They both curtsy and get back to work

August nods courteously in return.

LEonora goes on with August "Maybe I do owe you a heads up when we're hurt? August we're... more than just Banner House Lord and member. Perhaps my thoughtfulness attempt backfired and made you feel bad? I don't know"

"You were recovering from injury."

"Yeah..." Guilty look "But you shouldn't have to find out by Earl when I have enough finger energy to text" A frown as she purses her lips "More I think about it, if the situation were reversed and you didn't tell me you got hurt, I'd be down right pissy about it. I should treat you as I want to be treated and I didn't. I'm sorry."

"An apology is not needed. But I will accept it if you wish to give it."

"Well, I do. I do give an apology and it's out there buzzing about your ears now" A weak smile

"I accept." he has been gradually guiding them towards her chambers.

She says "Thank you" She almost stumbles, but he offered his arm and she took it so she doesn't. "I'm terribly fond of you after all"

"We are fond of you too, Leonora." he assures her seriously.

She gives him a tender kiss at that as they reach her door

He returns it, albeit publicly-brief; not shorting her but... publicly affectionate vs. passion that she's sampled.
