It's a damned good thing Coradel is rich. College tuition and fees are insane

Normally, she doesn't think twice about such things. However, yes, this is...noticeable. Not unworkable, but enough of an investment that she's aware of needing to arrange to cover the cost. Much like when they purchased the house.

"Things are getting expensive even for we rich people" Leonora leans over her shoulder to peek. She's wearing a fetching bathrobe, having just taken a 'quick shower'

Coradel reaches up to stroke Leo's shoulder as she finishes fussing with numbers. "It's an irritation, but college is worth it. Especially for August."

Leonora enjoys the stroke, "Sure you don't want an accountant to handle this part?"

"Oh, certainly, we have people who handle the actual paying. But August points out that we both need to keep ourselves aware of where the money's going, or somebody might mismanage us right out of our wealth. He's right. It's tedious and a bit banal, but he's right. And I suppose it's a good anti-bedlam approach, too." She puts the financial materials aside, and tilts her head up to claim a kiss from Leo.

"After what happened to Delores earlier this year, that's a good point."

And a kiss is returned, happily

"Mmm..." Enjoying the kiss. Then she asks, "What's on your agenda for the day?"

"Well, I was actually at a college the other day, a protest. Not as a student, I just htought I looked sexy holding up a sign, so I've done my good deed for the week" A wink "I was thinking of hitting the club scene tonight, but honestly I've played a lot of them out so I guess I'm saying I'm firmly, solidly, decidedly undecided"

"Any idea what the protest was for?" she says, amused. "If August heard you were at a college, he might pounce on the chance to encourage you to pursue your academic goals."

"You know, the words 'August' and 'Pounce' do NOT make me think of Academia," She smirks, then says "Would you believe some jackwad politicans are trying to cut funding on colleges that have Critical Race theory and other 'disturbing ' subjects? I'm not sure I agree with ALL CRT myself, but if you're so scared of IDEAS that you're ready to gut a college's access to ANY federal aid... well, " A snort "It's cowardly. Intellectual cowardice"

"I have heard something about that, I think," Coradel says absently. "Honestly, how can people be so cowardly that they're afraid that they might get 'disturbed' by an idea?" She shakes her head in Fiona-ish bafflement.

Her house sister is equally baffled, "Who knows? Dare and Learn is my way. "

"Exactly. Learn things. If you don't like what you learn, fix it."

She pauses a moment, thoughtfully. "Okay, maybe that second part isn't quite what I mean. But...well, you know what I mean."

"I do" A chuckle and another kiss, "Anyway, the protest was for a good cause... and there were some very cute folks there. Also, I look great waving a sign. "

"Oh, please, you look great regardless. Did you get to play with any of the cute ones afterwards?"

"I have a few numbers" She says happily, then sighs "Alas, I did not get to play as much as I hoped. But sometimes flirting is nice. Gets the wheels in motion"

"That it does," Coradel agrees with a twinkle in her eye.

"Now did you have any plans tonight yourself?"

"Not specifically. Perhaps we should hold an impromptu soiree?"

"Oh, I could do that. Should I wear anything in particular>+?"

"Oh, let's see... it's May, so something floral, certainly. Perhaps flowers and not much else?" she suggests with a grin.

There is the sound of a key in the house door.

"ooo I'll go change. You go greet who I think is at the door" Another kiss, and she flounces off

Coradel hurries to get the door, a smile on her face and a short silky little robe covering the rest.

She meets him there just as he succeeds in opening the door.

It is indeed August, arms full of some grocery bags (paper) and his schoolwork; returning from church, a study group, and, apparently, errands.

"Oh! Well...I guess a passionate kiss will have to wait until you put stuff down."

He gives her a sheepish grin. "Sorry. I wanted to make one trip...." he puts them down right by the door.

And opens his arms to her.

She approves of these revised priorities. "If it got you home to me sooner, I approve." She slips into his arms and presses her lips to his in a gentle kiss that lingers...."

... and which he returns in kind. Ah yes, it's the warm of the year and August is in his element.

Oh, she definitely appreciates this for him as much as she likes his darker moods, in the proper season. When they kiss parts, she murmurs, "Leonora's here."

"Oh!" he blushes and peers 'round as if he thinks she's lurking right there.

A smile. "She's changing. We're thinking of having an informal soiree of sorts, perhaps."

"Ah." his blush deepens; he might have formed some kind of conclusion about the type of soiree.

"I..." he clears his throat "I brought things home to make dinner."

"My lovely husband," she murmurs with approval. And he gets another kiss.

"Are you ladies hungry?" he asks gently when they part.

"Oh, I think we're likely to have an appetite," she purrs.

OOC TEST.

"Ahhh... for, ah, dinner?" he gestures weakly at the groceries.

That makes her laugh, and she reaches for one of the bags of groceries. "Yes, love. You've done all this shopping, I don't want to keep you from finishing the work of art."

"I'd just be sure to get the cold stuff in the fridge before Leonora appears...." he murmurs.

"Worried we'd both heat things up too quickly?" She winks as she carries one of the bags towards the kitchen.

"Ahhhh.... pretty sure the ice cream would melt." he agrees.

A bell-like laugh as she's setting things out on the counter for him to sort as he pleases.

There is, indeed, ice cream to be put in the freezer. He puts some items away and others he leaves out to work with.
