Earl blinks... as he looks about in his room at the Hold.

"Okay, she's gone too far" Earl says...

for it turns out, his room has been 'borrowed' for socks, and sock making materials! Zara has a lot of family and friends.. she needs room to store her stuff...

and HER room is filled with important old things

So maybe that's why Earl has found his room now filled with fabric of all colors, some spare needles and what not, and yes, completed socks not yet wrapped

Unless, and this is possible, it's another pooka trick. It wouldn't be past Vashti

"Zara? Honey?" he calls out

"I feel like I'm living in a sock emporium.." A glance at the wrapping paper and ribbons , it's not JUST Socks, it's also gift boxes

This, he decides, is what happens when you're actually sworn to the most popular sluagh girl in the area. He moves sideways through a passage. To be fair, there IS space enough for him to smuggle out a canvas one at a time

A plan forms in him, and he starts to prepare one of Zara's favorite blends of tea
