At the Rachford-DuBois home.....

August is working from home on a few pro-bono cases; he does the eye-strain work reading and researching, and passes it on to a qualified paralegal.

Ah, yes, Wednesday is play-mortal-house day! He can hear the familiar sounds of Coradel's car pulling up (perhaps with just the slightest screech of tires), and the bleep-bleep it makes as she locks it from the key fob.

He sets his things aside, and goes to open the door for her, smiling.

He gets there just in time to meet her as she reaches the door. Tight jeans, high heels, a spaghetti-strap bodice top, and shopping bags. She looks like she's had a good day. "Hello, my love!" August gets a kiss.

He returns it, his hands groping to take the bags she carries.

She relinquishes the bags, but that just lets her raise her hands to comb through his hair and hold the kiss longer. Win-win!

Caught, happily, he enjoys the touch and sensation, he holds the bags instead of her....

Eventually, she pulls away from the kiss, and murmurs, "Hello, indeed...." Her eyes are alight with interest and delight.

"Hi." breathless.

A soft smile, and she slips past him into the house, allowing him to manage the door and the shopping bags as she slips off her shoes.

And he does, and sets her bags near the base of the stairs. "Are you hungry?"

"I am. And I bet you are, too. I'm guessing this is the first time you've gotten up and away from your desk in...oh...two hours and twenty minutes."

"Aaahhhh..." he checks "Yes. More or less."

"I got caught up." he confesses.

"You often do. Anything interesting?" she asks as she goes to the kitchen.

He follows "More pro-bono work. Ah, I spoke with Leonora....."

"Oh? She's all right, I hope?"

"She is! I thought, and she agreed, she might come to dinner here?"

"Tonight? Lovely!"

"I will see if she can tonight, if not, then soon."

A warm smile. "It's been too long."

"We have all been busy. Ah."

"I, ah, had cause to speak with Leonora after speaking with Dame Temerity."

"Dame Temerity? Has she some conquest to boast of?" As is part of their weekly routine, she starts pulling salad ingredients from the fridge and prepping them.

He helps with dinner; he picked up roast pork, ham..... they are having Cuban sandwiches! And a salad.

"No, and that might be ... ah. Will you hold this in confidence? Please?"

A pleased look at the sandwich plan!

A blink. "Yes, of course! What's wrong?"

"Temerity has confessed to me that she... is lonely. And my heart hurts for her. She wants to have someone special to her, whom she is special to. I suggested she allow you, and-or Leonora, or both, show her... ah, that is, perhaps.... some... tips?"

A surprised blink. "She hasn't anybody? I admit, I haven't paid attention to her love life. Well! That's got to change!"

"Coradel... she... I think she's hurting."

"Oh, I have no doubt of it," she says with a mix of confidence and empathy.

A thoughtful look. "Interesting challenge, really."

"I would ask you... be kind. She's not experienced with this sort of thing. I... I recall how that is."

"August." Hands on hips, an impatient expression. "You doubt me?"

"I do not." making sandwiches "I advocate for my knight. I have asked the best for her assistance... and I ask that help to be kind to her."

(pause)
