She rises, and goes.

For August victory hardly leads to rest. A prisoner awaits trial, and his knights are basking in victory. But as scribe, he has to keep records

(There is also an interlude with his wife that leads to a nap.... but that's neither here nor there....)

When back on his feet, August ensures the prisoner is treated honorably, and goes to not only take down his own notes but encourages all involved to record or have recorded their own notes.

All these he will gather up and forward as needed.

Well, he could really expect nothing less.

Ivory comes in, "Baron? I was on watch as you asked. Dylan removed locks, alarms. There weren't as many traps"

He nods.

"Thank you. And dross or treasures?"

"there was some dispute over tthose" He says "Dylan believes they're fair game. I called them evidence." He pulls out a satchel

He brightens "An excellent call, Sir. Evidence they are, and in due course may be claimed by the finder or finders. -May- be."

"Thank you. He still may have snitched some goodies mind you"

"It would not surprise me. I believe him to be a master of slight-of-hand, but real and magical." gravely.

"Still... probably not worth the argument with him. Will you show me the evidence?"

"Right here, Sir. Careeful, some of the dross has dark energy" he opens the satchel

August's grey eyes are sober. "Set them on the table here. Do you have some silk?"

"I can get some, baron" He says as he lays out the dross, and "And this" he clatters down an odd heart shaped compass "is a treasure"

August has some silk in his study, actually; one never knows, and he likes to be prepared. He takes it from a drawer. "Which have the dark energy?"

He points to some of the dross "this phone, that bridal veil, and a this slip of paper"

August nods and covers his hand with the silk before using it to move those objects away.

the silk was wise.. the energies from them smack of petty hate and vengeance, greed and loss, and ridicule and cruelty respectively

He shakes his head sadly and turns his attention to the compass.

This is not evil, though it is possible itt has been used for such

He opens it, shielded by silk.

It has ssmall buttons, itt spins and points to him

"Perhaps Zara, or Sir Almandine would know better about this." he says.

"They are very wise" he agrees

He nods, and shuts the compass. "Wrap the dark items in this silk and let's take them all to Sir Almandine."

"Yes, Baron" He does so

And together they go to the Seer's rooms.

The seer's door is open

August taps there anyway. "Hello? Sir Seer?"

"Come in, please" he says

And the baron does, knight alone with him. "We have some items we'd like you to take a look at, when you have a moment."

"Certainly" he rises "Word reached me you had a new prisonenr of House Leanhaun.??"

"Ah... -we- do, yes." he says inclusively "The lady is accused of crimes to include but not limited to ravaging within the confines of the barony."

"that house" He sighs then perrks "Wha would you show me?"

"Sir?" August invites Ivory to set the items out for Almandine.

it takes but a few minuttes "the Compas finds those in love"

He nods. "I see." seriously.

"It can be set to find mortals in love, or Changelins. I think this helped herr find her prey"

He nods. "Is there a way to be sure?"

"Oh yes. I can cast more cantrips"

August nods. "We can leave the evidence with you." he offers "We do need to be sure."

"It will be a few hours" He says almost apologetically

"Oh, there's no immediate rush." August assures him.

"Very well then" A nod "It will be done"
