Kylie looks embarrassed

She really lost her temper the other day. It took Zing pestering her with questions to make her reconsider that she MIGHT be in the wrong

So she glances bout, hoping to find Baron August

Though, she'll settle for the baroness who is actually in charge of the place

The baroness's voice drifts out of a corridor near the kitchens. She seems to be talking with one of the staff about menu options.

"Well, when the shrimp become TOO Jumbo, they.. they cease to be shrimp, I think, Baroness" The cook scratches his head nervously

"Nonsense. They certainly don't think of themselves as small, do they? I'm sure they consider themselves quite sizable."

"I.. suppose they might. I'll see what I can do, Baroness" He says then seeing Kylie, he looks relieved "I think Kylie is hoping to talk to you"

The lapidary nocker shoots the boggan a look, then clears her throat "If it isn't too much trouble?"

Coradel turns and smiles at Kylie. "Oh, no trouble, I think we're done." She moves away from the kitchens with an easy, gliding step, gesturing for the nocker to walk with her. "You have a question?"

"More like a confession" SHe coughs "I .. there were guests here last night. One of them was a nocker. After thinking about it, maybe I just caught her at a bad time... but ah...I thought she was acting high and mighty, and the next thing I knew, I challenged her hold's crafters against ours in a kind of crafter's duel' A wince "So.. uh.. Silverwolf maybe sending us a gauntlet wit hammer in the grip or something"

"A duel? Of crafters? How interesting!" She doesn't seem upset. "Have you told Dame Honoria yet?"

"NO, I figured if I go to visit, I can apologize and nip this in the bud fast, but wanted to tell you or Baron August before you heaRd about it from someone else" Kyle throws her hands up "I don't get it. She was just sitting there, and got all terse. I thought I could help her, then next thing I know she's acting like she's too good to even look at my workshop, yelling at me and I made some comment about Silverwolf, she got all huffy and then my mouth spouted out that challenge"

"Only, I think maybe she wasn't in the best mood when I found her. She is just a fledge... I should have been more patient" Squirm, and not in the sluagh way

"That is the burden of having been sained, I suppose. Still," a sigh, "I rather like the idea of such a contest. You don't think it would be a good idea?" The Fiona seems disinterested in discouraging a duel

"Depends on how the Silverwolf folks see it, don't it?" She says "I mean, we're on good terms. The sorority, well, you got to be careful, a contest for charity is one thing, rivalries get mean"

"Hm. Well...yes, it would be inconvenient to have to renegotiate peace afterwards. You're sure she didn't intend insult?"

SHe ponders it "Not one hundred percent, no. "

"Well...go and find out. Be sure, one way or the other...and then report back, understood?"

"Ahhh.." She says "Well, I was just going to apologize and leave it at that. You want me to... interogate an Ailil fledge to see if she really wanted to throw down or not, at the Ailil varich hold?"

A blink. "I could request her to attend court here and question her, instead," she considers.

"You know what, " Kylie holds up a hand "I think I'll just pay them a visit. Start with an apology if I misunderstood and see how it goes from there."

A sigh, and a gentle wave. "As you see fit, I suppose. Do let me know if you believe this needs to...escalate."

She seems disappointed, but only mildly so.

"Okay, on the plus side, uh.. Sir Sergei almost seemed in a good mood. You know, for a Varich, and they visited him"

"They...?"

"Oh, the others with the Silverwolf nocker. Hmm. I wonder what they did to make him pleased. It is unusual, certainly."

"Might want to see him and ask, I don't know the furking details because I don't do the boggan chat chat stuff" She shrugs

A soft laugh. "Of course. Well, off with you, then, and I'll venture to the aerie."

And off to the aerie she goes.

Kylie retreats, hoping Ailil Varich holds are friendlier than they sound

The Baroness makes her way to the Ayrie, first passing by the kennels . She notices that the stairs up to the ayrie have been replaced with some thing of a ramp, easier for centaurs to go up? Well, Daria does like the animals

"Oh, how nice." She appreciates the addition, and checks in the kennels to see if Sergei is there, first.

Sergei is, he rises from tending to a pair of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that seem to glow "Baroness?" He bows

"Sir Sergei," a nod in return. She smiles at the dogs. "And who are these?"

"One of your latest additions, Baroness, these are Goneril and Regan, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, as you can see, they are chimerically florescent. "

"My goodness, yes, they are!" She crouches down to offer a hand to the dogs to sniff. "How unusual! How do we come by them?"

"Stud services from other dogs" He smiles "Speaking of new aquisitions"

She takes a moment to return the smile, and then encourages him to continue, "Yes?" A brief pet for each dog before she stands again.

"It would seem, the Baron of Silverwolf is trying to make a brand new breed, a Fae Mountain Dog... so far, the ingredients so to speak, include a Great Pyreanes Sire, and a Russian Bear Dog Dam, both of impeccable lines. We have a chance to assit the formation, though it will cost us a Bernese Mountain Dog.. the mix of three breeds should foster health. So Dame Gladiola told me"

"Hmm." She thinks a moment. "I know more about horse lines, but I trust your judgment...you believe any animal we sent for breeding would be treated well? And the resulting pups, as well?"

"We havve a chace to get a dog from the first litter. It's a challenge to constuct a new bred with keen eye, fine stock, and a dream. I am intrigued and hope you will allow me to take on the project?"

"And as for treating well" He pauses "I am a cold man, I do not open my heart easily, or wisely, but I have seen the Silverwolf stables and kennels and Ayrie. And.. he takes care of each of them, Hawk, Mare, or Hound. I do not know how much is his doing, but the animals are FIt, amazing lines... and, to my surprise ... they seem happy as well. "

"That is excellent to hear. Well...there remains only one issue to resolve, and once that is done, I can give you a definite yes or no."

"An issue?" A surprised look "Is there some other matte with horses ttaking precedent?"

"No, not with horses. It seems there has been some quarrel between Crafter Kylie and a Silverwolf nocker. It may result in a crafter duel." She seems pleased by this notion. "However, Kylie is going there now to see if she can resolve the issue before it comes to that." A slightly disappointed tone.

Perhaps to the baronness surprise, he seems to understand "There is a honing of expertise in contest. Perhaps make it one? If a duel falls out? "

"That is what I'm thinking, yes. Oh, of course, Pennons is the more common time for such things, but surely a winter contest would be appreciated by many!"
