Delores looks a bit put out

Coradel is still delighted about the success of this recent quest when she seeks out Lord Hume. But finding Delores in a state gives her pause. "Delores? Is something wrong?"

"I am.. somewhat vexed with Lord Hume, my Baroness. But it's okay. I am very happy with the responsilbities I have."

A frown. "Well, I'm sure you'll understand that I expect the full story behind that."

"Oh in my case, it's finding out I am no longer in charge when you AND Baron August are gone." She explains, "Lord Hume filled some positions.. including Chancelior. Chancellior outranks Steward"

Her eyes widen. "He WHAT?!"

"Where is he?" she says, scowling. "Right now."

"He appointed a new Chancellior... or in this case an old one. Vince.. is Chancellior. I'm Under Vince. WHich I'm told is quite nice in many respects"

She blinks, quite taken aback by this. "I...oh!" She considers. "Well...hm."

"He trusts Vince, as for Lord Hume himself.. he is out on a quest to stop the folks trying to hack our cell phones?"

A sigh. "I'll speak with both of them. I don't know that I'll change the appointment...it's not a bad choice at all...but I am upset that Hume thought he had the right to do so."

"He also hired a Bard"

WHich of course, is a rather prestigious position, no mere troubadour

"Wait...while we were gone, my heir, who was ostensibly entrusted to care for this hold, appointed a chancellor so he could leave?"

The anger flares again in her eyes. "And that bard is....?"

"Yes. ANd.. in a room, I hestiate to say guest room.. as he's apaprently part of the staff. WOuld you like to meet him?"

She pauses. "I would like the following...I will go to the audience chamber. Please summon Chancellor Vince, this new bard, Jester Shalimar, and Sir Bachdion. I would have you there as well. I would like to have Baron August join us, also, but he may be busy. Will you see to this, my Steward?"

She is still clearly angry, but not at Delores.

"Promptly, shall I also summon the Herald and Seer? "

"Yes, good idea. And...Healer Emma as well. Just in case." Yes, still angry.

"By your will, my liege" She bows and goes to fetch them all, while Coradel goes to the AUdience chamber

Coradel stalks to the audience chamber, in high temper!

Once there, she takes her seat...unless somebody is already in it?!

Oh, someone is already in it

Or rather, he is lounged in FRONT of it, but his mightiness, somewhat.... overlaps into the chair.

Mane is fully primped and floofed, and WHERE did he find that deep red cloak with the ermine colored trim? One has heard of being dressed to the nines, but Vince is dressed to 10 or 11.

Hearing footsteps approach. "Shalimar, hast thou found my drinks yet? The royal throat is parched!"

She stops and gives him a measuring look. An et tu, leo? look.

"Ah!" Recognizing Coradel as she enters, and a big smile. "Lioness, I have kept thy seat warm. Come, sit?"

With apologies to Queen Victoria, she does NOT look amused.

"Our Jester was just fetching refreshments."

Shallimar enters with Sir Bachdion... the former saying "And I said that's what SIDHE said... it did not end well"

Coradel looks to the new arrivals. "Oh, good. You're here. Though apparently somebody thinks to supplant me." She folds her arms and gives Vince another look.

Her passions are usually expressed in erotic fashion. But now, her anger and frustration nearly make the air around her shimmer.

He outstretches his hands to either side. "My Lioness, when the Liege orders, who am I but a humble servant to obey?"

"OH dear.." Sir Bachdion says

Wisely sliding to one side, away from the chair.

"Well, when the Lioness is away, the cat will play" Shaiimar observes

Innish enters and bows promptly to the Baroness "Oh thank any gods that care to listen"

"When the Lordling calls, the cat is in thrall." Vince counters back to Shalimar.

"Must explain the collar..." The jester grins

"Oh, do you like it?"

and then comes the seer

She waits until Vince is a significant distance from her chair, and then stalks forward to claim it, sitting with a regal bearing that's far more formal than her usual.

"Be Quiet!" she says to the duelling pooka.

"Herald, come forward."

Vince is suddenly very interested in washing a paw - er, examining his nails, that is.

The steward comes in, and with her is a man who, to mortal eyes look to be at most in his thirties, but his fae mien is wizened, and.. pine green.

Innish moves forward and bows a gain, "Baroness. I live to serve"

She nods to Innish, then addresses him in a tone that is intended to speak to the entire room. "I am given to understand that my appointed heir, Lord Hume, has taken it upon himself to make some changes to my court in my absence. I will be clear -- he does NOT have the authority to make any permanent appointments, and I do not endorse any that he has made so far. Herald, I require a complete accounting of Lord Hume's orders during my absence. Here and now."
