Zara stands in the library, angry tears brimming.

Spiders descend on her shoulders, trying to comfort

Footsteps, Earl. Did one of the sisters tip him off? Or is it some sort of trueheart dar? is the raven weeping?

She waits for him, not-crying but in high color.

"Zara, baby," A look at her coloring, "What's wrong?" He moves to her , and strokes her cheek "You're upset. what's happened?"

"Mama is giving away my room to a stranger."

His brow knits and he frowns and holds her "Why would she do such a horrible thing?" he whispers

"Oh, I understand wanting to offer shelter to the girl. But it's my room."

"Yes ,a haven to you" He nods

"My room, and my window seat, and all of my hideyholes. I must go to Scarsdale, ere all my secret places are violated..."

"I'll take you now. Is there anything you need to grab before I do?"

"Grab here, I mean"

"Nay. I know we were going to visit for my birthday, but..." Huff.

"We were? Oh" He seems surprised "I .. just have forgot. "A pause "Why does this girl need shelter?"

"She has been orphaned. I.. truly, I understand why my mother wishes to help. But..."

"Is she a changeling? or even Kinain? If so ... heck, the DeBukes would put her up"

"I know not. She was a little girl yet when I last saw her. She is... thirteen, now?"

Earl ponders "Well, if she is, then... well darn it, Clem will make it possible for her. She might want a change of scenerey anyway after a tragedy"

"Either way, I must needs secure my things ere a stranger takes my room."

"Then off we go," he moves with her, a slow dance of sorts "He turns the seasons, around, and so she changes, her gown, mother earth and father time..." A soft song and...
