And they are near the new River.

The mortal soul is still there... the woman is lurching over the water.... "Where.. we..." She does not break so much as start to slide out of the skin. Then.. she plunges into the river!

Zara pushes glamour at the falling woman.

And the first Rusalka that she knows of, breaks through the water

"Welcome." She whispers.

"What I... Sister?" A gasp "It is you... I..wait.. my head"

"It is well. You are safe, we will keep you warm. You are two, now."

Earl points as the water here seethes.. it's like a dream dance, but rather than the burst and explosion, a slow leak. A Chimerical figure forms on the shore.. a figment of two dimensional caricture "Come on.. your mom doesn't have to know" Fondling for his belt

And the Rusalka turns and bares her teeth

Zara hisses!

"He betrayed my mother" She says "He..." And her eyes grow sly, and she seems to grow more beutiful, "If.. you insist..." She looks both demure and brazen, alluring...

and then, the nightmare chimera strides into the water a leer on his face, grabbing at her, she skips away, almost playfully

he follows, chasing her into the water

and then...in the deepest part...

Earl blinks "Is she about to ..drown her nervousa?"

"Aye." Pleased.

Zara normally defends chimera, but this one was born to be destroyed, and there is something a kin to a rite of passage

And this one.. the predator father? Hard to argue for it...

the water froths , stirs,and then rising from the waters , her stepfather recreated dead and floating... she is beautiful and terrifying.

"Thou art reborn, Sister."

"I am..and I know you, but I don't. My head spins wiht old dreams of the rivers.. they said we were dead women drowned... but we were not, we were their champions, their avengers. They came to the river, they cried for justice. We... we brought it"

"Aye. Lessoners, like us - like the sluagh."

"HOw do I know these things? how do I know that one is cautious about entering the weeds and banks lest one anger a River Hag , a sluagh, or another Rusalka? How do I know the..ways to lure men then trap them in twining limbs and watch the airs come out of them as you tickle their belly in the depths?

"Your soul knows this, for it is your dreaming."

"I am not human, and that sits well with me" She says pleased "Where do I go now? I am...the waters call but one must leave them when one is..." She takes a breath "new"

"You know a lot," earl says "Without knowing how you know. Makes sense. You need more knowledge than most to reclaim the heritage. We'll take you some place where you can get help. " A frown then a look to Zara "There are no other Rusalka to teach her who will mentor her?"

"Aye. To a warm fire, and learning of the world."

Zara shrugs. "Sluagh are russian, too."

"I.. I am Ukranian on my mother's side" the woman says "Of my step father well, will I be allowed to kill the real one?"

"Ah." earl says "I might advise you do not talk too lightly of that around any members of House Liam"

The Rusalka follows Zara

"Mmm, this world is not the old one. But there are ways to teach, yet."

"I am..was, Veronica" The woman says

"thisis not the river i was walking in before" She glances back at the bank

"No. The other River was mine."

"You... may visit it, as you learn. But it is claimed."

"Ah" Realization seems to dawn "I have the most profound urge to apologize for ignorance."

"Trust your instincts there," Earl says "My lady can be territorial." Fond

Veronica looks at Zara "Am I right in that this male is yours to drown?"

"Aye. He is also claimed."

"It... it can be dangerous to kill. But... to terrorize? To make them fear when once they were arrogant? That can feed you."

"Mmm"

She seems to be taking this in, and moves with an easy grace. Her voile has taken the form of a gown the colors of the very river she rose from... her mein sometimes seems drowned, other times as fresh as a maiden diving into a pool

And Earl, and Zara, guide her to the hold
