Monday and Adam is NOT IN SCHOOL!!!!!

He's still sick, but on the mend. Hey, it's something. He's showered and allowed out for some fresh air if properly bundled up (which he is) in the warmest part of the day. Someone freshens his room. And then.... there's his school work.

After his (all too brief) outing, he settles down at his desk to review and try to figure out WTF all this stuff is.

English.... He sets that aside. Math.... with dread, he looks it over. Algebra; letters where none should be.

A knock on the door

"Come in?" He sounds a bit better, too.

Bachdion enters in "Hello, Lad. You sound better"

"Hello, Sir." He stands. "Feeling better. I got to take a walk today. I get tired, though."

"I'm not surprised. " He says and looks him over "If I were feeling chancy I'd try to flicker flash just the germs out of you... but if THAT goes wrong, well, the results could be upleasant"

"Uh.... yeah, pass."

"Adam, I've been meaning to ask you something. " He sits down "Do you think I'm making moves on your mother?"

"You said you weren't, Sir."

"She said you supported both my parents."

"That doesn't answer my question"

"You said you weren't, so you're not, Sir."

He raises a brow "Is that what you believe?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Well, good. I had worried you thought I was being less than chivalrous. I try to have a good relationship with mmy students and I like you, lad so.. didn't want hard feelings between us. And if there ws, I wanted to do right by you"

"I -am- upset with you, Sir, but not about that."

"oh?" He says "Well, go ahead then."

Adam takes a breath and sits up a little straighter. "I was told you were the one that decided I had to go to the DeBuke school. That was the wrong call. You're in change, it's your call and your play and I'll play it. But it was the wrong call."

"I was not 'the one' but I did have a say" A pause "And it was the wrong call because?"

Adam frowns. "Who was it?"

"Who was it, Sir?" he amends.

"It was me and some others..and I think maybe it's best if you're still holding a grudge to let you focus it on me alone for a bit." he says "Now, you're sick, but from whatever others have said, the problem isn't the school, it's the your behavior and attitude. But you're sick so.. not the best time to go into that again"

"Yes Sir. No reason to cover that ground again. I have my orders."

Bachdion frowns "Do you do that on purpose?"

He looks uncertain. "Do what? My apologies if I said something wrong."

"Come across as martyred, passive-aggressive, and hint that those who gave you the orders are just one notch short of nazi commanders."

Adam looks truly troubled. "I didn't mean to, no Sir."

"I'm not sure what to believe" he says "but your actions are.. scary, Adam, banal. A mind that won't open, won't ever bend...wont'... well, you're sick. And I am.. distracted. " He rises "Hope you feel better soon"

"I'm sorry, Sir." he says quietly.

"So am I" he sighs

And he walks out
