"Well. That's better, I guess. I mean, I still want to throw down with the guy but....."

ALanza nods "if it helps I really didn't get a hit in either"

Adam drifts closer.

"Yeah." she raises a brow "So you're done yelling at me?"

"I wasn't yelling-at- you...."

"mmm" She raises a brow "Yeah?"

"Kinda.... yelling -about- you." Mumbled.

"Uh huh" A pause "Look, it's a free country, you can yell about anything or anywhere you want as far as I'm concerned but when you do, don't be surprised when I walk away. Okay?"

"Yeah. That's fair. I got angry but I shouldn't have, like, dumped it on you. I was upset about what happened to you."

"Not at you, though. "

"So was I. But Adam, I'm an eshu. I'm used to being a hero in the story, but sometimes I can't be. And sometimes you can't be either. It's okay. Long as bad peopel get stopped"

He returns it. "One of the beagles, like, ate a rug or something."

"Oh no, those guys are just.. I swear I should name them Trouble and Tribulation"

She laughs, caught off guard by his matter of fact declaration
