Bronte sits bolt up right.

Stretching her wings she flutters from shelf to shelf

Then gasps. A gap! A book missing!

She flies to the check out list. It's not theft if it was checked out properly

But the missing book is not listed in check out

no one signed for it.

She writhes "Well thief! I smell you and I feel your air. I hear your breath. Come along! Help yourself again, there is plenty and to spare!"

And waits to see if someone appears

A curse then "The robb'd that smiles, steals something from the thief; He robs himself that spends a bootless grief.”

But still... it's missing. Her hoard is less!

She sniffs again. If it's that jester, she will show that joker the wrath of a she dragon wronged!

But no, either the scent has faded or it's just someone who knows how to cover it

Grabbing a paper, she dips her tail into an ink well, and writes.

And off she flies

Leaving a note behind
