Vince rumbles a bit, his purr deepening at the mention of 'poaching'. He rolls to his feet and follows after them, his tail swishing. In fact, he walks between the two for a few paces.

The Baron nods in response. "I hope that there are no hard feelings." And he slides a pace to one side, allowing for the lion to take the middle spot. "Magnificent." He murmurs.

"Yes, I believe we will go there after the stables."

"Baroness, do you hunt?" He asks.

Dame Claire bows and moves to do so

A warm smile as she settles a hand on Vince's mane. She seems quite content to have him there.

"I do, indeed, but not often for sport. We sometimes have dangerous chimera appear, and it's a wonderful challenge to rout them out and chase them down, and then to be rid of the filthy things." A smile. "I imagine you do, as well, Baron?"

He nods, warming to the conversation as she accepts the prompt. "There is good hunting of mortal beasts to be had in Silverwolf and the surrounding forests. Venison, game meat, leathers, and furs. I find it sporting, but also hunt only that which I need or have use for." Aiden says, agreeably. "We are a more isolate holding - less so as of late, with the reawakening of Darkgate, and now this new trod. I feel that chimera that have lain fallow may arise again, and there may be cause for hunts of that nature as well, if they threaten our people or lands. I have not yet decided if I will bargain to keep any of the Ovcharkas for Silverwolf. They may do better in a more Northern clime - and I also do not wish to tempt fate by setting up guardians against threats that do not exist."

"Yes, I can imagine as he grows older little Ivan may find all that fur troublesome in a clime such as we have here. I think, though, that you will break your Shieldmaiden's heart if you separate her from that pup, Baron. Now, tell me...mortal beasts, do you find they give you much challenge?" Her fingers toy with a bit of Vince's mane as they approach the stables.

"There can be challenge in any hunt." He admits. "I prefer bowhunting myself - rifles have their place, but I find that they are not as.... sporting. Nor aesthetically pleasing. I keep them for training the hounds and steeds I breed against being gunshy, but I mislike how it scares the game. A sharp retort shattering the peace of a moment where the line is split between life and death. Give me a clean bowshot any day."

He looks thoughtful at the mention of Gwen and the pup. A small frown, of consideration more than displeasure.

"Oh, I dislike guns as well. As you say, where is the sport? Yes, a bow is far preferable. Silent, sleek, and lovely."

A curious look. "Something wrong, Baron?"

“Just a thought.” He walks on, looking over the hallways. “I hope that she does not regret her decision.” He offers, quietly. “Not that I judge my Barony to be lesser. But your holding has more... life. Excitement. Ambiance. I am a man of more simple tastes, and I have allowed much to lie fallow as I focused on my own pursuits. My chancellor, now. She has wished to bring more... excitement to our hold. I’ve declined... and yet, it comes, never the less. Perhaps da’an does not wish to be denied.”
