Claire shakes her head at Coradel as the troll smashes another of his underlings "I'm starting to see why commoners don't like playing with us"

A fond headbutt that may rock her on her feet a little. And he turns, raising his head and shakes out his mane - onward towards the prisoners.

"They don't like playing against us," Coradel corrects Claire. "Aid Temerity!"

Coradel goes to the train car and searches for the spot where the key might be used.

While the battle.. rages onward, the bold fiona (is there another kind?) finds the pad lock and realizes it isn't as simple as it looks.. a bit of circuitry.. if it had gotten broken or busted otherwise it might have fried those people. As it is, simply using it should open this SAFELY.

Vince hears them in the Cattle car as he rejoins Coradel... prayers... curses of those wrongfully trapped, the whimpers of women

She uses the key to do so, alert to the sounds of battle nearby but needing to focus on the captives.

And Vince returns from around a corner, straightening his collar. "Really, it's not fair at all. "He murmurs to Coradel. "How can I have holes in my favorite silk shirt when it was tucked safely away? " Slung on his back now is the lion-emblem shield awarded on a certain bookward quest. And he moves forward with Coradel, towards the trapped victims.

She gives him a fond but hurried smile. "Whiskers, you'll need to get them away safely, towards the horses. There's still a troll to deal with."

As she opens it, and goes in, she sees a flash of glamour... and Coradel sees the hatred in the eyes of the prisoners. "Monstro"

"I...." She blinks, nonplussed. "No, I'm here to help."

They charge her , chains about their wrists and slowing their feet, but still, ten men out to kill the enemy so the women might be safe.. why it's almost heroic

Coradel doesn't want to hurt them so she backs off. They can let themselves out! Instead, she has suspicions about where this cantrip comes from...where's that sluagh?!

Vince joins her, and then his eyes widen as the men charge, and he cries, "Please, stop!" Shaking free his hair, posing gloriously, and spreading his arms, showing that he holds no weapon. As she backs away, he moves to stand in the doorway between the prisoners and Coradel.

"Out of the way" One man says "We won't let you save that slaving bastard"

And he gives the man a sad, yet caring look, and says, "Oh, ye of little faith. Look upon Aslan, and know he is here to... set you free." Not using the same apparently triggering word. And releases a bit of glamour, fingers crossed...

And then Vince glows.. shining like the sun

And the mob backs up. It's one thing to charge a wounded slaver who you want revenge on...

it's another when suddenly a stranger glows like an angel...

And one lilttle girl looks up "Aslan!"

"No!" She fusses at the others "Aslan es Bueno!"

Coradel turns, blade in hand, to swing at the source of the sluagh voice.

The mob now has a child ready to protect 'aslan' 'aslan' ready to protect their tormentor... and.. they're confused

He moves to her, kneeling, and carefully examines her chains, looking for a way to free her.

If nothing else, he will find where they are attached to a wall or floor, and bash it loose with the edge of his shield.

Looks like the key Coradel has can free one them, one at a time

But she's a bit busy slashing

Coradel finds no target.. she slices... but the sluagh, whoever he was, appears completely out of sight

She curses, then calls out, "Whiskers? You've got them?" Watching the troll-related combat, but not wanting to abandon the pooka as he is faced with freeing the prisoners.

Sounds of battle and then... "Baroness?" It's Claire

"I need the magic puzzle piece to fit the locks!" He calls back.

"Cordy" Leonora corrects. Right of ignorance

Still running hands up the chains, checking the fasteners, looking for any weak point that might allow him to manually break them.

"Claire, bring this to Vince, quickly." She hands over the key.

And she does... just as Vince was ready to use the Steel Lion Paw technique despite the risk to his manicure

The cantrip, the fuddle..weaars off and folks look confused their foe seemingly gone

"Oh, I guess." He takes the key, kissing the hand that passed it over - maybe getting a LOOK from Claire, but fortune favors the bold! And starts unlocking the prisoners, the little girl first.

The lilttle girl hugs him "Gracious, Aslan"

Coradel smiles as the prisoners no longer look at her as the enemy. "We must get them all to safety. And they need water and food."

Temerity says "Claire insisted that I not use the gibbet on the tall one"

"Tempting," she agrees with Temerity. "The sluagh got away," she adds with a frown.

He leans in and presses a chaste kiss against her forehead, imbibing the child with a touch of glamour, as the glow from him dim. A moment of enchantment to help fight back against the horrors she has encountered. "Si. And tu es Queen Lucy." Naming the small yet valiant Pevensie who fought for her family. And she will see elves, and a knight not unlike Sir Reepicheep, and maybe this will be enough to fight off the nightmares. For this one girl, at least.

And the rest of the prisoners, he unlocks as well.

She gapes in wonder ... the little girl is not fae, and is it s a pity she is not, but while no Beaumayn are present, the signs are on her already for a glorious destiny as a future dreamer set on a right path. When she has children of her own, she will write her own set of novellas...to delight them and inspire... it will become international best sellers that folks will claim make her CS Lewis' spiritual Heir! A boast she denies though she admits he is her greatest inspiration....

and should the Lion hero in that story be named Vince...well, the Right of ignorance will not be oer strained by that..coincidence

"WUFF!"

Coradel hears a barking. Familar. Deep!

"WUFF"

She turns to look for the source of the barking.
