There's been a run on the library, with Carnival coming up, folks are using it for ideas for costumes!

It's almost crowded!

"Okay, so if i go dressed as this Milady De Winter.... " //"Oh look, Dorothy actually had SILVER slippers"// "Oh, I may go with the Gene WIlder look instead of the Wonka in the book"//"Anne of Green Gables.. isn't that just a farm girl? I mean, seems all alike any other farm girl"

"Gothic novels?" /"Oh I don't want to wear just black"

Swarm...

Hiiiiissssssssssssssssssssssss

And the crowds stop. Sure, it was quiet, but the power of the hiss could not be denied.

"We're just looking for costume ideas, Miss Zara" One of the more polite Boggans blushes

"Look softly, aye?"

"I thought the library was open to everyone" A nocker grumbles

"it is," Charity says "But it still needs respecting."

Shes' always lived up to her name in all ways

"Yes, but I don't know if I want to be a goth so this bronte book isn't for me, anyone want to trade?" Another asks

Earl comes in to see the crowd, his eyes widen

and he seeks out his lady somewhere in this ..hoard (Relative to the usual crowd)

"Feh." She plucks Wuthering heights from the nocker's hand and replaces it with a Jules Verne.

Part of a libarian's task is to find what folks want to read as opposed to what they THINK They want to read.

And Zara, with dignity, begins to herd this batch of unruly semi-literate kittens to what they will want, and perhaps to what will improve them.

Earl helps reach tall books at her silent requests, and hands them down

Zara knows every book, and has a decent idea of every patron... yes, this is her duty!

Damn troll influence...

So she endures, like a noble woman in charge of an endangered estate on the moors beset by nouve riche pretenders. Their noise, their clatter, their appalling ignorance. She endures it all, as is her duty and dark fate.

And then Siv's voice comes down the hall way "Folks? I think Someone turned Shalimar into a large flower in the garden! He smells wonderful!"

And the crowd checks out much faster to go see. While everyone loves Shalimar, there is a sense of karmic satisfaction when he gets to be on the other end that folks do not want to miss. Zara insists on folks taking books sign out, and those that do obey, but soon, her library is empty save for she and Earl

And then, Siv, who peeks in "Raven? You okay in there?"

"Needest you aught?" Zara seems to have squirmed into a gap between bookshelves

"No no. I'm fine. Just got worried about you and.. oh, Earl's here, guess I intruded on your protective lane, Sir Earl. Sorry about that" Siv says smiling though

Earl inclines his head, "No no, I think it was nice of you to help clear the crowd out. Though" A Proud look to Zara, "My lady was handling them with grace and aplomb"

Admittedly, few find aplomb in bookshelf gaps.

"...mayhaps a spot of tea?"

"I'll set it up," Earl offers, "You two ladies have seats?"

"What ever Zara would like" Siv says "I can put up a sign that hte library is in use for a private session"

ANd tea is set up

Siv sips "So you were tackling all those coming in, even though they were unruly and noisy? You helped them out anyway?" Siv notes to Zara

"Fff." Agreement? She's still sequestered.

Siv says "If you were a troll I'd say you were dedicated and following your duty," humor in her eyes.

"Nay. Passion. And folly."

"Whatever helps you sleep in the day, nocturnal one" Siv grins.

"Ahem, Siv? " Earl gives a brow.

"ooh he's getting good at that," Siv concedes to Zara

"Good at what?"

"Trollbrow... he was much weaker last time I saw him try it" Siv says.

"Ahhh."

Earl blinks an touches his brow

Siv says "Trust me. I know pros. " then she says to Zara "Any new books in the library?"

A hand snakes out to point at the "What's New!" shelf.

"Oh, how'd I even miss that you had one? is the what's new shelf itself part of what's new, or did I just miss it?" Siv blushes

"Tis new. I thought it meet."
