Tonight she has three spiders with her - 1122, and Octa, and Quattuor. The other sisters are in Poughkeepsie.

Indeed, 1122 shows off various corners and high perches of the library to the ladies.

Quattuor has no patience for a tour - she wants to veer off on her own. Octa is more indulgent. And Zara? Zara is figuring out just wish books to leave at SIv's bedside in welcome...

Bronte, being bronte, wants to help with this very thing "Treasure Island?"

Zara is very certain one can't use sail cloth like it was used in Defiant Tides, Hungry Hearts, but it is entertainingly done.

Leonora enters in, and looks surprised "Racy pirate novels? Wow, Zara. This is a side of you I didn't expect"

"Ah, of course," Leonora says with a slight amusement in her eyes "And the gothic romances in the shelf in the corner? Her veil was torn has a lot of wear"

"Indeed? How peculiar."

"Uh huh" she lets it slide "So, Siv is actually staying? I thought it was just rumor, but if you know it, the source must be solid. Her parents gave me a bit of a grilling, but I like them."

"At least some of the time. I doubt she will abandon her home entire."

"I think she's going to miss it pretty fast and hard actually, nice of you to set up some distractions for her," She looks the books over "ooo Conquest of Ember Island"

Conquest of Ember Island seems to out of its way to base the looks of the pirates on various celebrities. the plot is predictable , the editing? dubious.

She tries to nudge the less-objectionable Captain's Price the Fiona's way. "There's a dog..."

"Yeah?" Leonora says "Does it have a hunky guy walking it?"

"Want to find out?"

"okay, you've hooked me, congrats. I'll sign it out"

Bronte winks at Zara while the Fiona does so.

"Aye, aye... sign here..."

A blink, "Uhm..Zara?" Leonora says lifting the quill she uses to sign, "Is this spider yours? It's not 1122" a spider on the quill

"Octa..." she extends a hand, providing a platform for the spider to step to.

And Octa does, smoothly and elegantly I thought a feather bit might look lovely in web design

"Octa? There are 7 more of them?" Leonora looks around. Fiona are above fear... but minor revulsion is a form of arachnaphobia they can manage

"Hm. That would seem to be implied..."

"Or, of course, 1121..."

She shudders a bit, again with distaste, "Look, I owe you from the firnost days but I sure hope you're joking? I Had one of those silver fish in the library at firnost fall on me once, and I had to take a suuupperhot shower berfore Felt clean again. so help me if one of your friends gets in my hair, I am not responsible for any scalding they might get."

"I would not advise harming my little friends - but they are not mundane spiders. They are far more intelligent."

"Damn." she says,. for Leonora might be a huntress but she doesn't kill for no reason and certainly not intelligent chimera that have not really harmed her "Just ask them not to .. you know..get on me"

"Thank" A nod to Octa and 1122 "Thank you both for understanding" Mannerly herself. At one time, Leonora had thought she would be a Duchess, but she is happier as a knight, and it suits her better. She was a princess as a mortal, and a rotten mortal at that, as a knight, infused with a shining host, she's almost tolerable to even sluagh, and far more decent. "And thanks for the book suggestion, Zara. Oh, Siv is probably getting that room near yours. Shouldn't be too loud. Far as I know she's staying steadfast to her boyfriend and he's not here."

The room near yours. It is easy for Zara to forget that she still has a room here. And as the Fiona leaves, Zara wonders if she could sleep there tonight. Earl would understand.
