It has been over a week since Samhain, and it would seem my liege has been through a great deal. Of course, I knew his bannerhouse would be approved, but one must be careful with the egos of even the humblest of the shining host. Samhain, was, as ever, a frustrating blur, and I may have done unfortunate things bordering on the sentimental. I am, naturally, distressed by this notion, so choose to focus rather on the misadventures of the nobility who in victory or failure almost always manage to entertain. They are a melodramatic kith.

Alas, with Miss Zara off on both academic and arcane adventures, I seem to be the major source of good sluagh sense in the area. I do miss her, but know that she is destined for great things, and , of course, will return as suits her. One does not hold a sluagh from a library she herself helped set up. As for this library, it thrives. Some of the childlings have, in the last year, grown to appreciate more books. Henri has in particular become an avid reader. I do not claim to know what goes in the mind of a pooka boy, but he seems to enjoy the adventure books and high fantasy best of all. Most of those who are greybeards or older wilders come here for access to the notes and resources that help them in their job rather than the reading, though some of the ladies do enjoy the poetry section quite a bit. I am sometimes asked what I like, and I direct them to entry level gothic literature. Every now and then someone turns out to enjoy them too. But at least they tried if they did not.

The Baroness Coradel seems positively thriving. With the triumph of her trueheart, she is even more irrepressible than usual. I have had doubts about her at times, but I must confess to myself she is hard not to like. To many of the younger female wilders, she is almost like a fairy god big sister, if there is such a thing, and frequently saves their day and leads them to embrace their budding womanhood with confidence.

Our Regent seems aloof in her way, ever active, ever helpful, but closed off. I wonder what secrets she is keeping? Very rude of her to tease sluagh so
