"That's like saying you must at least become 'adequate' as a Liam." August frowns.

"Actually, her point was my House was known for it and I should honor that heritage. Her definition of adequette was pretty extensive"

August nods reluctantly. "That's good. What did you enjoy doing before, then?"

"I used to play a mean X Box."

"As an albino, I try to stay out of the sun... " He adds

"Understandable." Says the suntanned lifeguard.

"I'm afraid I never got into video games too deeply. I, ah, I like to read, play chess... "

"I can do chess, not the best at it. Ever play poker?"

"I know the rules, but.... no, not really."

"Do you play for money?"

"You have to play for something. Playing poker with no stakes at all is like insulting to at least 5 different religions"

He frowns. "It is? Which ones?"

"The Bible has a verse encouraging poker for money" He says

Ivory has amazed August. "Where??"

Ivory clears his throat and quotes "'He was a stranger, and I took him in.'"

August waits for the rest.

"It's a joke, August." He says after a moment "Taking someone in?"

"Maybe I"m not good on delivery. I know the JOKE was funny"

"Providing aid and shelter." He confirms. "A joke?"

"It's a play on words and the irony of it being used... okay, wait... " He says "Are you now having a joke on ME?"

He shakes his head. "No, I'm trying to understand." Sincerely.

"Wow. You know, I don't think I'm qualified to explain the humor, but If I offended you, I do apologize."

"I thought maybe I missed something in Comparative Religion class. I can check my notes...."

"If you find anything let me know, but you know we can play for poker chips that get returned anyway at the end if you like"

"That would be... fun." He agrees with a shy smile.

"Sure, and you can help my chess game? From what I hear, sis will kick my ass... chess wise that is"

August smiles, a sunny reflex he may not be aware of. "She is very good."

"No kidding, not many sluagh can steal a whole liam from balor clutches"

A troubled look flashes across his face. "I know."

"Oh right, sorry about that. I know you guys were looking for me. I appreciate it."

"You're welcome." Politely. " It was a duty and an honor."
