The bum mutters "I was..jest...the thing"

" S'cues me......" August heads over. "Pardon me.... " To both employe and patron. "Hey, Mark? I owe you some fries, right?"

"Uh.. yeah?" The bum says//The employee looks baffled, "Pardon me, sir. You know this...man?" A slight sniff whether it's the odor, snobbery, or both hard to say

Coradel notes the noise, but doesn’t really pay attention to it until August goes over. A smile as she watches, quietly saying to Magnus, “Your father is at it again.”

"Well, it's one of the reasons we adore him. I suppose." Magnus admits.

"Sure." He confirms easily. "Can we get a burger and fries please?" He puts an arm around 'Mark'.

“Mm,” Coradel accedes.

Then a bit louder, she backs up August by waving, “Hi, Mark.”

The employee is confused but puts on that 'this is awkward' smile and retreats.

'Mark' shuffles over.

"Hey." August greets him. "What's your name?" Quietly.

"Uhm.. Mark?" his brow knits "I guess?"

“Well, you can tell us your real name, if you like,” Coradel assures him more quietly as August directs him closer. “The ‘Mark’ Thing was for the benefit of that one.” She nods after the employee, and tries to ignore the smell. “I’m Chloe.”

"August." He introduces himself.

'Oh, clever. " He says somewhat dully. "I think it's one of those names no one likes anymore...Potsie? No. .Ralph. I'm a Ralph."

"This is Tony."

"Nice to meet you," Magnus says and to his credit, shakes the man's dirty hand

"Tell you what..... let's get you that burger and fries, you eat up, and then we'll take a walk together. Is that ok?"

A puzzled look. “You’re not sure of your own name?”

"I like fries" He says then he says to Coradel, "Maybe if it was a nice name like Chloe I'd remember it better."

“Thanks,” she says at the compliment, then gives August a curious look.

Ralph seems older than he is... at first glance, later 40s, but if one can mentally subtract weather damage, hard living, and dirt- he might be as young as 35. Hair going grayish at the beard didn't help

Then a nudge to Magnus, when he fails to introduce Claire.

August is monitoring the order of food.

"I'm sorry, this is Claire, my wife" Magnus says

"Why be sorry? To look at her I'd say you lucked out" Ralph answers and nods to the lady "hi"

Claire is not as welcoming, but even she smiles at that, "Hello"

Coradel grins at that. “Oh, he’s silver-tongued.”

She kenns him just for the heck of it.

And sees the spark of subdued glamour. Wait, is he ..kithain? Kithain who has forgotten?

A blink. “Well...” She looks for August. “Where are you from, Ralph?”

"I dont' remember... it was green, and pretty...and folks were nicer"

"Nicer than us? Unpossible" Magnus says

August is right there alongside Ralph.

In fact, he finds a seat for Ralph and makes sure the food is right in front of him. "You go ahead, Ralph, we already ate." He assures the man.

Ralph eats hungrily... while he munches, CLaire asks "Okay, at first I thought we were just being nice to this fellow? Now I'm guessing I've missed something more?"

she whispered that, of course

August clearly would like to talk with Ralph a bit more, but has decided to let him get some food into him. "Being nice is reason enough." He murmurs in response.

Coradel takes Claire aside and murmurs, "He's kinain, I think, but he's forgotten."

"Or kithain… yes." Magnus agrees in a whisper

"Well, someone put glamour in afrench fry already" Claire suggests

August frowns, looking from Ralph to Claire. "Not here. Not now. Magnus, can you get the bill? We'll invite him to walk out with us when he's done, talk about getting him to a shelter for the night. We can do it out there. Safer."

"Safer?" Coradel looks around at the minigolf scenarios. "This hardly seems risky."

"Somewhere with more privacy." He explains. "We don't know, if he comes back, what he'll be."

"Or what he'll do" Claire admits begrudgingly "He could reappear as a redcap with a chimerical chainsaw"

August nods, seriously.

"Hmm...okay, fair enough."

"We can let him finish his food, at least." August watches protectively.

Ralph scarves rapidly

"Ohhh...I've got a notion. Be right back." She hands August her club, and goes to the concession stand to buy a some ice cream cups for all.
