So grave. He nods.

"You know I will miss you too. And..." He looks around the room. "Here. This. At the Hollows... I didn't have this. I'll miss it."

"Well...it may be selfish of me to say, but good." A gentle smile. "I'd be upset if you said you wouldn't miss this at all."

He sways with her. "Well. Guess I should....." he trails off.

"Mmmm." Agreement, but she claims another kiss, a slow one.

He kisses her in return, letting it linger, tasting....

She doesn't seem in a hurry to send him away. Nope, not at all....

He parts only reluctantly. "Is there anything you need from me, for here? Or... ??"

She shakes her head. "I'll call you if I need. And I'll be there on Wednesday. Tacos?" A bright smile.

A teasing smack on his rump. "I'll have to remember how to work with you in that kitchen."

A big grin. "You got it." He takes his beating with aplomb. "I'll get groceries and stuff tomorrow."

"Okay. Now...go, before I tug you back to bed." She might be teasing.

He hesitates. "Hey....." a thought. "I don't know... I mean, if you've got stuff to do here...."

A curious look, and she lets him finish his thought.

".... do you .... want to drive up with me?"

"And come back by trod?" A smile. "I could do that...I think. Let me check with Innish, see if there's anything pressing on the agenda." She gives him a quick little kiss, then slips out the door in search of the herald.

He grins hopefully and takes his duffle out to the car.

The Herald has been chatting with his son a lot, but is still a man of duty and hard not to find.

or not hard to find if you prefer it to make sense.

"My liege?" the old fellow says with a bow

"Hello, Innish, Irven." Coradel gives both a smile. "Innish, is court business light enough that I could take the day off, drive up with August as he heads back to college?"

"mm we will have to reschedule Sir Bachdion's meeting. I believe he was going to propose nude volleyball in the garden in some sort of sports league kind of thing, but it can wait"

"Oh, he won't like it being put off, but...well, I'll be back tomorrow, I'm sure he'll understand. Thank you, Innish, you're a dear." And the Herald gets a quick happy kiss on the cheek before a very pleased Fiona runs back to find her love.

Tylar has come up to August "Sir Is there anything else you need packed?"

"No, I'm all set. You have your things in the car?"

"Yes sir, I tried to pack light. So it shouldn't take up too much space." A sigh "Steward Delores gave me way too many to go trail mix"

Coradel catches up with them, smiling. "All set, August. Hello, Squire Tylar."

"We can get you things in Kansas City, of course, if you need them." He assures Tylar, and smiles at Coradel. "You can come?"

"There's nothing that can't wait until tomorrow, so yes." A little bounce. "Road trip!"

"Baroness" He bows "Road trip? Oh, I ddin't realize the baroness was coming with us" Polite, despite the fact that girls confuse things. He hopes this doesn't turn into a shopping trip or something

"It'll be fun," she smiles to confirm, and then gives August's cheek a kiss before heading to the car.

Tylar looks at August dubiously, then says "Anothing else, sir?"

August motions 'come on' to Tylar and jogs to catch up and get Coradel's door. "No, my last bag is in the car. Can you manage with half the backseat?"

"Yes sir, I'm ah, girthy but I can squeeze"

"Good man." He claps Tylar on the shoulder and gets in, himself.

ALl three get in the vehicle, and the boggan takes with almost knightly aplomb that he has lot shot gun

Coradel has, of course, assumed the shotgun seat as her due, and smiles at the other two as they all get settled. "I think I need to get a convertible. Driving around with the top down looks like fun."

August starts up and gets them on the road. "I guess it could be."

"They're a bit unsafe" The boggan says

He nods. "Zara's Volvo was chosen for its safety." Approvingly.

"Ohh..." Coradel waves off safety concerns. "Everything's 'dangerous' if people go looking for problems."

"Well. In the event of a roll-over, a hard shell helps protect."

"But they're all so low down! Not likely to roll-over, right?" She looks out the window. "Think how nice it would feel to have the wind in your hair as you fly along the roads!"

August presses a button and Coradel's window lowers.

She rolls her eyes at him. "Thanks, but not quite the same. It just gets all swirled around and then my hair's in my face." But she does lean into the breeze for a moment, and that glorious mane blows and billows.

He glances over, manages not to crash, and does smile.

Tylar tries not to be memorized by the hair. Maybe girls could be okay in time

She smiles back at August, then clicks on the audio system, looking for some good driving music.

It's just as well; August's few CDs are hopelessly stuffy classical and such.

She doesn't hate all classical, not at all. In fact...after a sidelong look at him, she slips in Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, making sure it's on one of the more upbeat sections, full of life and beauty and enthusiasm.
