At Earth Runes, Velvet runs her fingers over the books of the library seeking the right ones.

The books here are expansive in fiction, but it is the books of lore she sorts through now.

“No one is ever satisfied where he is....Only the children know what they’re looking for....” the little golden dragon comments from a perch above.

"oh" she looks up, "miss bronte, how fare you?"

“Not wisely but too well.”

A envious smile, "miss zara is fortunate to have found such a companion. mind me not. i am merely researching."

"Mayhaps I can be of assistance?" A gentle whisper from the shadows.

"i would not trouble thee, miss zara, but neither would i be so rude as to ever 'rummage' in your charge. i am hoping to find a book that might pertain to studies of the arcadian way of possession"

"Ah! We have some on this, but not enough - I think, a'times, sidhe scholars find shame in their method..."

"well, i am trying to learn, not judge- but it does seem they are more squeemish about discussing than doing. you know of my interest in the intangibles of soul and spirit, partciularly fae spirits. "

"Indeed. So - I shall direct you first to one by a common scholar... Sir Almond was deeply enmeshed in the nobility, and a close observer..."

"oh, yes, " Velvelt's eyes flicker towards the book mentioned

Zara takes it from the shelf, flicking through the pages with slender fingers. "Here, in this chapter, he speaks of the Resurgence, and accounts of the first sidhe to make their way back..."

'this shall be most interesting. I thank thee."

"Sidhe accounts, however... hm..." She taps her chin, thoughtfully. She offers the book over to the younger sluagh.

"more guarded i should imagine. " a sigh

"Aye, but with patient gleaning we can find a rich enough meal..."

"alas, Sir Almandine's notes are guarded."

"Well, he is young."

"Though decoding Eiluned... aye, a good study in ciphers. Here, look at this..." A... book on gardening?

"gardening? metaphor, or code?" intrigued

Zara smiles, just a tiny bit, and shrugs wordlessly.

"mmm" rather than waste time being offended at the non answer, she skims, and says "many thanks. am i allowed to take these out of the library? I would not presume"

"You may - the library, but not the hold, nu?"

"I would not let Almandine see the gardening book too closely."

"understood. eiluned are vexingly curious, not sensibly curious like we sluagh" slightest of smiles

"Exactly. No discipline." An echo of the smile.

" i know places were a book can be read without risk of a full sized sidhe intruding" a pause, "oh, miss zara. should you need something and it not betray my duties as a squire, let me know. our kith must look out for each other in matters of knowledge as youv'e done for me."

She nods. "Of course. You have a valuable vantage to observe the nobles..."

"useful that." she gathers the books. "i shall study my gardening now. let us see what grows"

"Happy sowing, Velvet. May you reap well."

"so may we all" and silent as a shade...the library is left alone to librarian and her bookwyrm
