A busy, productive day passes, full of life guarding, volunteering, serving the needs of those around him. August passes time with his squires, quietly instructing them on the library sciences and even learning -with - them as they discover new information together.
And then, that best part of the day for him. He gently asks permission to visit the Seer's star chart, and settles on the floor. He draws his knees up to his chest and wraps his arms around them, head tipped back, gazing up into the dome where flare two stars, twinkling gently.
He watches them... he watches one of them... with heartbreaking longing. Chances are good that if the private young man knew anyone else could see him, he would close that expression off. For now, however, it seems to make no difference.
In fact, he's had to instruct his squires to fetch him after a few hours, lest he overstay his welcome with Sir Almandine. Reluctantly, he rises; the stars keep his attention as he walks/is led to the door.
He changes quickly and goes for a run; a punishing race past sunset, into the dark, over grass and logs.
On his return, he cleans up and drops onto the cot in his study, and into sleep.
