"in his drunken stupor, the Cluirchaun would write one copy, only to find a new blank sheet below him ,and he did it again four times."

August sighs. "Who challenged him?"

A deep breath, "Shallimar...who was with aanother pooka lady I've never seen before."

"Dam... darn it. I -asked- him..... I think he hid behind his Kith's flaw." A frustrated exhale.

A chuckle,"I would too. Go easy on him, maybe he's trying to impess the lady , let Inish show off his skills so he doesn't feel TOO bad, and getting you the squire he thinks you deserve?"

"He forged my hand." This seems to be a point of professional pride in an otherwise humble man.

"Also, there's the point of -asking- me if I want a squire, or heck, going through the Baroness about it?"

"Inish forged your hand, while drunk. And probably doesn't remember he did it."

"No excuse."

"No excuse for Inish, or for Shalimar?"

"Either." Grimly.

"Go get em..." He says, "But... do you have a plan?"

"No. I'll talk about this with Coradel. She's the Baroness."

"Good plan" He puts his shades back on, "Frankly? I think that shallimar probably thinks he's helping. Oddly, that joker is fond of you ... and Coradel, of course. He's blocked her from masculine Ailil attention more than once. Now that she's sained, perhaps he is looking to do YOU favors."

"He did?" Another frown, almost a scowl. "There was enough attention that such was needed?"

"From what I hear, some second hand mind you, yes." A pause, "August, this was before he even knew you ...when Coradel arrived, on behalf of his baron. Shalimar would have died for his lord. I admire that. Now, he'll die for her, and because you are special to her, for you. However, he's Eiluned trained. He's going to have to work hard not to keep a few secrets and intrigues from going."

He crosses his arms over his chest, note crumpling slightly. "I'll talk to Coradel about it."

"Fair enough." A pause, "So..are you going to take a squire?"

"Well, I can't say this has left a good taste in my mouth for it. It's not as easy as just "oh, here's a knight at loose ends, -you-, be his squire. Anyone squiring for a knight of Liam faces challenges that others do not. The fact I -don't- have a squire as yet should say something." A small huff.

"That said.... it's possible." Reluctantly.

"well, none of us have squires besides Sparrow," He reminds and stretches "Amuses me you liams are the ones who get yanked into it. "

He pauses. "Why -don't- you? Have a squire?"

"Because I'm too smart to ask for one, and mom's too distracted or kind to lob one at me. Ha."

Enjoying the sun

"Hm. Ok. Thank you, Magnus; I appreciate your help."

"Anytime. " He says off to doze

Earth Runes... And Coradel notices Leonora looking over a chess board in a small study

"Hello, Leo..." A smile, and she approaches the board. "I didn't know you played."

"I don't well, that's for sure," She smiles, "August helped me learn. "She glances to the door to make sure it's closed.

It's not, but noting the glance, Coradel takes a few steps back to shut it. "Something wrong?"

"No, but.. I thought you might have come to talk about August, and even if you weren't, I thought maybe I'd ask for some advice? I have a hard time reading him sometimes. I mean, he's a great guy, I really like him, but ..he showed me your name on his chest and I thought he was shooting my hints of interest down... but now I'm not sure. For a scribe, he can be hard to read." A blush

She smiles, and settles into the seat across from Leo. "Okay, so...when did he show you his chest? I know... he didn't have a shirt on after the fight at the DuBois house...."

She tells her, "And it's a nice chest"

Her smile grows wider. "It is, isn't it? But anyway...I know he...well...I don't want to share thoughts that are private. Mmmm.... " She wavers, choosing her words carefully. "I...think...he wasn't trying to shoot you down...."

"Well, my ego thanks you for that warning." A smile.

"Well, you said now you're not sure...?"

"I.. wait, I think we just had a cross communication problem. Sorry, warning is the wrong word, thank you for that head's up. Seriously, I thought I had flubbed it"

"Right, no, but you said that you thought he was shooting you down, but now you're not sure....so what makes you think he's still interested?" An encouraging smile.

"Oh.. It's how he went back to the rumba when we practiced and other things. I.. think he enjoys dancing fori t's own sake, and I know he likes dancing with you best, but the rumba is..pretty close. I think I got him worked up."

"Ohhhh...I want to see you two dance, someday. Well. I actually was hoping to enlist you to help work him up a bit more. Interested?"

"Yes, dammnit, I have to confess, I'm getting as turned on by him as he is me."

"Then here's my thinking: Normally I go to visit him at his and Sparrow's home on Wednesdays, but he agreed that I should stay close to Chloe's parents this week -- they are still recovering, and I want to stay here if they have difficulties, for now. He cannot come here, for he has class in the morning. But what if you come visit the house...and enjoy the indoor pool with me...and we send him some selfies?" A smile. "Quite innocent ones, of course."
