August having had his chat with Vince, goes looking about for the Jester and the Herald.

Either one, really, will do for a start.

The sound of laughter leads him to Shalimar first, the childlings are watching him constantly walking and slipping as if everything around is made of super slick stuff... the kids seem to find this hilarious.

August leans on the doorway, watching with a faint smile.

Enri, dares to touch him, and the skunk somehow 'spins' away as if he's just been pushed along an ice rink. more laughter.

the poodle pooka is worried, "Did I kill you?"

Shalimar winks, "Nay, lad. but a few lessons in jokes and one say you'll slay em in the aisles."

August waits till there is a suitable pause in the action and nods in greeting to Shalimar.

The entertainment winds down, and Shalimar throws sugar filled candy to each one "Off you go to torment the warders" He moves towardss August, "Ah, how can I help you, most August sir?"

He offers the note, and the question. "Do you know anything about this?" Mildly.

"I do... ' he nods, "I remember it so well.... stone tablets worked for my grandfather, they worked for my father, and by Isthar they work for me! and I was like, oh you silly Mesopotamians... trust me, papyrus and it's off shoots will be much easier to carry."

August falls back and regroups. "I'm sorry, Shalimar, I don't have a great deal of experience with your Kith; please be as clear as you can."

"I haven't been clear since my job as a window ..... I liked the work, but the long hours shattered me."

The Sidhe takes a deep, even breath. "Did you write this, or cause it to be written?"

"Sir, this begins to smack of profiling. Why aren't you asking the thanes? " he looks over one of the trolls, "It's always who you last suspect." then a chuckle "Nay sir, I did no writes, only lefts."

"It's always who you last suspect because you ask them last." Matter-of-factly. "Thank you for your answer. Do you know who did it?"

"May one ask what you plan to do to the lass once you find him?"

"I'd like to understand why, and discuss my concerns." Calmly.

"Would discussion include thumbscrews? the rack? the Iron Maiden?" He mimes Air Guitar

August shakes his head. "No. I just want to understand."

"Then, a word of advice, my lord? "

He nods. "Please."

"Ask yourself, who expects a walrus to have tusks? Who would see this not as a prank, but as purview?"

He shakes his head. "Coradel didn't know anything about it."

"She's hardly alone, my lord. "

"There are probably many people who didn't know anything about it, but there's one person, at least, who -did-.... and I am going to find them."

"And help him find himself." A nod "if there's nothing else my lord?"

August frowns. "Is there any way you can be.... clearer ... about who it might be?"

"whoever did this must be mad, for all his wars are merry, and all his songs are sad. "

August finds a pencil stub, flips the note over, and scribbles on it "... mad, wars, merry, songs, sad, walrus, tusks, prank, purview...." He sighs. "Thank you for trying, Shalimar."

"i'm told I can be VERY trying, mlord" He bows

Off he goes, studying his notes and looking for Innish. Or Magnus, for that matter. He makes a list, and lines two names off it.

He finds his son first, dozing on a hammock? Looks like he's not reeving today, just soaking up sun rays. Getting a tan

And he's wearing ap air of red and silver shorts

"Mag.... ah, Magnus." He greets.

Shades are lowered, "Father, how are you? "

"Puzzled. Not unusual, really...... Do you know anything about this?" He offers the note.

He raises a brow, "No, but better you than me." he looks it over "Bit of dried whiskey or something here. Paper is local, from the hold it'self. hand writing is meant to look like yours,style too. It's a bit of, but most folks would buy it first thing. Mmm. I can do this the brilliant way or the fast way. Which would you like? Assuming your'e asking me to solve this?"

"Oh. Well. If you can help, sure. I asked Coradel, Shalimar, Vince, and you."

he sighs, "I was that far down the list? really?" he mutters "Fuck it, I'll just do this the fast way"

"Coradel whispered it...." He offers. "Magnus, I just happened to find you now...."

He shakes it three times "Yeah yeah.. you have my number, you know? I tell everyone I am an investigator, and they just nod and smile. Feelings hurt. sulk coming on." He shakes it three more times and chants "Once for the money, twice for the honey, three for the rep on the street. "

And.. "oh, interesting.. the person behind this IS...."

(Pause scene)

And indeed, Magnus does let it hang

"Yes?" With polite, if intense, interest.

"In the vision, I saw Inish, drunk out of his his mind..clurichan you know? Got to talking about the good old days... and how he was a darn good herald...but no one does anything the way he knew... ' Ahem. "How many details do you want?"

"Well.... all of them?" Curious.
