Jack frowns ,not convinced and stubborn

She blinks and looks to Bachdion. "What?"

"I rather found your solution telling, I didn't teach you that. that's just natural leadership."

Coradel smiles and looks a bit smug as she sips her drink.

Delores looks at Augusst, "Actually, I must confess, I'm almost glad it happened. that was a very awkward position we were thrust into. I think we do need to remember, and i mean this with respect to the liams, our society is one of fae laws, not human morality. We can have the later, but it has to yield to the former. "

"I cannot be party to mistreatment of mortals." Calm, firm, quiet. "With respect."

"Then would it have been okay if you had left?" Jack asks

"No. We have a duty."

Jack and Delores both groan a bit in sync

Shalimar looks around the floor "Must be careful not to step in it"

"It was a difficult moment, yes. Queen Bess made an order, and we hesitated to respect it. Had we gone forward, we would have violated her right to choose. Had we failed to obey, we would have failed the Dreaming." Coradel frowns, thinking.

His eyes, half lidded, follow the conversation as though watching a bird flit across from branch to branch - tail flicking slightly behind him.

August nods to Derynwydd.

"Do...we establish a tradition?" She considers.

"You could." He affirms to Coradel.

"Her right to choose, despite what many would have changed in this backward mortal land, would not have ended last night." He rumbles, quietly.

"Explain, if you can, Vince?"

"She could abort if she didn't want the baby." A little nose-wrinkle.

August frowns at Derynwydd.

Sir Neachdainn ap Ailil is frowning. And for once, his sister, Dame Nansaidh ap Gwydion seems to share the expression. The two 'old guard' knights are wilders, but have been quiet.

He hesitates, then just gives a small nod as Catnik more easily voices his response.

"That is not the choice alone. It is the right to choose a partner, to say no to a specific act."

"May I ask," Neachdainn says, "If the sensitivities to other Houses will hold such power over this hold? "

And, he inclines his head to Coradel as well, acknowledging the clarification.

Coradel looks to Neachdainn, then nods. "You are of this household, and of greater experience than myself. I would hear your opinion."

"If House Liam sensitivities are to be honored over every other, it will be seen either you are biased because you love one, or that other house's views are seen as lesser. Gwydions value honor. Would you have them stiffle their takes on the escheat to favor the Liam ones? Ailil? We like to win. Would you diminish our stances and takes on realpolitik? this is your mine field to walk, but I think there are some who would see what Sir August has done as..emotional blackmail."

Claire raises a brow

Her wings rustle, mantling above her shoulders.

"Protecting mortals is not a sensitivity."

The knight in question's face is as smooth a mask as the one he wore last night. He slides the drink away, and sits back, hands in his lap.

"One might argue, that the right of ignorance is in our laws. The protection of a mortal, is not." Swish swish, swish swish.

"I admit the right to Dream allows some protection, but that is not all mortals, that is some mortals, the ones who dream" Neachdainn points out. "Maybee Liam doesn't see it that way, but some other houses do."

"As is the right to dream, Vincent."

Coradel frowns and listens to the arguments going back and forth.

"To dream unhindered, without ravage that may destroy their ability. Inspire, yes. Overload, no." His tail, a metronome.

"And there are more Dreamers than you think, though too many grow dim from hunger and despair. They are our lifeblood."

"My brother is an ass, but he has his points" the only Gwydion in the room says

"Then I ask each of you here...how would you see us celebrate Carnival? For it will be celebrated at EarthRunes. I will not be bound by your preferences, but will make my decision with your input in mind. How should we have handled that situation, given your House and preferences. Begin."

"The Right of Ignorance protects Mortals as much as the Fae. It is a primary concern."

"A mortal need not be inhibited by alcohol, or drugs, or other substances."

"Not enough, August...HOW do we do that and still celebrate the holiday?"

"I believe her desire for a child was.... unusual. I am glad that we had the chance for clear consent. But she was inebriated before she was brought here, enchanted before entry, and left under the cloak of mists to preserve her ignorance."
