"She is seelie... you think, what, she wants an Oath?"

Coradel looks over at Deryn's suggestion, and then to Magnus with a questioning arc to her eyebrows.

A look to his sister, "Maybe, but.. she never said so, and I ..well, she poo poos some of my attempts to be romantic. And she once told me that an oath with her might make folks worry she had control over me."

"Derynwydd.... anyone might want an Oath."

The last from Magnus makes her frown. "Perhaps...she may think that your relationship is doomed somehow, and she's trying to find ways to protect herself from the pain when it tumbles down. It's a tricky dance...craving, but maintaining distance."

"Maybe. But Unseelie aren't so caught up with Love. And.. Ailil... how could she ask? If she asked, and he turned her down?"

A blink. "Oh...she's trying to protect you, Magnus."

"I assume she'd nod and then kill me" He says, perhaps not totally joking to Deryn, then a frown at Coradel, "Wait, she's wanting to break up, no protect me?"

"The last thing she wants to do is hurt you...but if she asks, and you say no...."

"I think it would be very hard for her to deal with that...." A nod at Cora.

"Oh crap. I thought Fiona were the ones who complicated things" A look to August "Anytihng you can add? I mean you and she vanished at roughly the same time, makes me wonder if you saw or heard anything?"

((Back))

August coughs. "Ah. No. Sorry."

A surprised look to August. "No?"

"I have nothing to add."

"uh huh. I..." A frustrated sigh "I apologize to all of you for making this night about Claire and myself. It's not like Claire to do that sort of thing after mentioning childlings in need. "

Coradel frowns. "Magnus, do you know anything about what Claire's own childling years were like?"

"I don't think she dream danced until her earliest teens. Now those were Rough, being a seelie Ailil is hell. Their fostering is a no win scenerio. The Ailil try to teach yo u to discard honor and cheat. They value unseelie principles after all. But when they found out she was going to defy them and do it honorably AND try to win, they changed the pattern up. Tried to instill loyalty to the house with the honor. Even that didn't work. She joined, but never swore the oath most Seelie Ailil are asked to take that would make them impotaent against their own house. Every now and then they come by and offer her something in exchange for it."

"She always says no."

"Damn good on her..."

"And...you're fairly sure that's the whole truth? The entire story?"

"Well, she's a terrible liar, and that's how she told me. She does have a friend I don't like, another Ailil, I figure he makes the offer. How she turns him down and still sees him as a friend I don't know, but she says 'it's just politics' and shrugs. Somedays Ailils are irritating."

She shakes her head. "I don't know if house politics are what upset her."

"No, I agree. But...well, I thought perhaps if she had crysalized earlier than she told you, Magnus, it might explain her reaction to the notion of abandoned childlings."

"...if that is what she was reacting to, at any rate. It's hard to tell for certain."

"Very."

"Magnus. Do you love her?"

"Well, there was a ... oh dear. I wonder if this is reminding her of Ciadra?" Soft C. "I best explain taht. Ciadra was a childling. She was like a little sister to Claire. Not truly, not arcadian, but their Court bound them and... then when she was fostered, they went apart after all."

"And of course I love her. I wouldn't be terrified when she was in danger otherwise."

"Does she know where this Ciadra is now?"

"Say exactly that. And if you love her... give your... everything yourself of yourself can to her. Pledge all of yourself, of that, to her."

She looks to August...and reaches a hand to him, gently.

He takes her hand.

"Probably not. You see, Ciadra isn't Seelie, not anymore. Claire says once she left they broke her and.." He pauses, "Oh sweet dreaming. I do love her, i do, but why didn't you folks TELL me I miss things when she's involved?"

August takes a deep breath.

"They broke her..." she echoes with a sigh, and squeezes August's hand. "I think that's it, Magnus. Or part of it. And yes, you do miss things, but so do we all...and because we love you, we don't always notice what you're missing right away." An apologetic grin.

"Appreciate it. " he says dryly. "So... whatever she's doing, she doesn't want me involved with. So I should totally involve myself?" Confused sigh

August shakes his head, kisses his lady's hand, and excuses himself....

OOC and the player must sleep.

OOC: Gotcha BIC: "Well, thank you all. I should .. Ineed to think over my next move. I don't want to lose her. I know that much." he rises

She rises also. "Find her, Magnus. And let her know that we want to help, if we can."

"Maybe she doesn't want everyone butting in?"

"Probably" He nods "I think I'll flip a coin and figure out what to do next."

A half-grin. "A very Magnus approach."

"Yes..." low tired whistle. "Good night" And he heads out.

"Good night, Magnus."

As the others go, she says, "Deryn, thank you. I do appreciate the idea about the Key Club. And about the Reeves."
